Re: 20g long Fangs setup detail and thoughts

Tank is doing great and I added 50 Ghost Shrimp. I still see 2 Ramshorn Snails and find new empty shells daily so I know the tank still has some and my Puff is well fed. I saw a few failed attempts on the Ghost Shrimp and my RCS seem to be out more since they are getting ignored. I really prefer thi...

Re: Monotrete Palembangensis/ dragon puffer thoughts

Mine is always hiding in one of two spots in its tank. The only time it moves around is when it has its weekly freak-out after I do a water change where it races around the tank and does its best to soak me by splashing me with water to show its displeasure. Other than that, I see bits of it though...

Re: What's your puffer's name?

My GSPs when I was kid were Hans and Franz.

My first Fangs was Captian Puff.

My current one is called Lil Nug's aka lil nugget and was named by my wife based on an inside joke.

Re: Rare puffers in Socal at Tongs Fountain V (Save em PLease!)

Well I guess it is Fugu season in Socal since I see them at two other stores now but they don't seem to be selling at all. This might be a good and bad thing. The good is that they may not be imported next time around as stores cannot move them but its sad for the few dedicated people who really wan...

Re: 20g long Fangs setup detail and thoughts

Targets species are definitely lurkers. They won't move much unless a meal is involved.

Re: 20g long Fangs setup detail and thoughts

RTR I think the tail was curled in case a hasty turn was needed but I also think it was a sign of feeling threatened/stressed. Its been about a week since crab gate and my Puff keeps its caudal fin straight again while resting on the bottom(90% of the time). So I think that things have settled down ...

Re: Aquatop CF-series canister filter (aka SUNSUN)

I have never heard a bad thing about the Aquatop Canisters. They are the "English" arm of Sunsun (the best Chinese aquarium filter manufacturer) and everything I have read about them is complimentary. They seem to have good warranty/replacement service compared to any other budget choice, ...

Re: Filter

2nd buying an Aquaclear I have a 50 and a 20 on my 20 long.

But you cannot just swap them and put media into the Aquaclear since penguin filters are designed to have almost all the nitrifiers in the biowheel. So you will have to run them together until the Aquaclear is seeded.

Re: Sand query for a semi lurker...

I never had this species but I suggest that you slowly over one to two months drop the temp of the 240l to 18-20c. While at the same time slowly raising the salinity in the tank the puffer is currently in. Doing so would allow you to acclimate the LR in one tank and the puffer in the other making th...

Re: Fixed by starving!

I will do that but right now there are about20 live snails still in there so anything I do will get ignored. Once the shrimp and snails are culled I will try that.

Re: Abei

Looks nice, I say just throw in two big mats of Java Fern, maybe some vals(they can drape over the top) or floating plants and call it a day.

Lol I wish mine would take down a Cray or two. how big were the Crays? I am thinking of breeding some CPO(s).

Re: Fixed by starving!

I had given up on feeding intervals. My Fangs seem to be 100% different (one ate any frozen food and preferred them to live ghost shrimp). They both love(d) Krill but I refuse to feed it to them more then once a month due to health concerns. I now feed live Ghost shrimp, RCS and Ramshorn snails only...
