Re: Creating the right salinity for a valentini...

Yep, the tank is going through an entire change with look, type, everything...I guess its not really called a salinity Change :P. I do not need live sand do I? I wanted to just get some black play sand...is that fine?

Re: Creating the right salinity for a valentini...

Ok, sounds like a good list of things to get started on...Hopefully my LFS has a good price of live rock cause 20 lbs seems like it sounds expensive. As for the ghost shrimp I only ment to use them as food. Will they last long enough for the puffer to notice them?

Creating the right salinity for a valentini...

Ok, been awhile since I have been here. Since my GSP (Hamlet) passed away about three months ago, I have had time to learn much more about puffer keeping and correct feeding routines. I have also been looking into getting a Marine puffer and have decided on getting a valentini. Now my tank is curren...

My first loss.

Well, in a previous post I was trying to figure out this yellowish clear substance on my puffer and apparently I couldn't figure it out fast enough. I just woke up about an hour ago to find Hamlet stuck to the intake of my filter. I panicked and quickly shoved him off of the intake thinking he may h...

Re: Odd things appearing on fish...

I have never touched Hamlet...I am aafraid to make him puff.

Substrate is large gravel....looks like little 1/8 inch rocks.

Odd things appearing on fish...

I am currently holding my GSP Hamlet in my 10g tank due to some weird 'stuff' appearing on him. It definitely does not look like any case of ICH I have ever seen so I am almost ready to rule that out. Now as for what the substance looks like: It is a very light yellowish tone substance that is loose...

Re: Fish very dark while sleeping...Normal?

Also it is currently FW but the 55g is set up to get him slowly used to brackish water. Also, thanks for ...

Re: Fish going blind?

Well I checked the parameters of the water at the lfs and all the levels were ok...I did notice on my skull I recently placed in there that the 'paint' that was originally on there was chipping off and a white fuzz was growing where the paint chipped off. I decided to take it out yesterday and clean...

Fish going blind?

Ok, first off I dont know the parameters of my water since I dont have a kit and I take it to my lfs to make sure it is ok twice a week. My last check they said all the parameters were fine with nitrites at 0 and ammonia at 0. My tank size is a 10g with ONLY Hamlet in it (GSP) I feed him bloodworm e...
