Re: Can Columnaris be spread by snails?
Great question that I do not have an answer to. I'd treat the snails with your fish. I also would treat your entire tank. I don't think the med you are using is the correct one. Kanaplex is what is recommended.

Re: Can a GSP be depressed ?
Welcome! If you ask me, your treatment may have caused some of the ich to disappear but since it's a gill disease, you may not be able to see the spots, until the gills are full of parasites & overflow to their body. Just adding a "little" salt & raising the temp "slightly&quo...

What is your normal WC schedule? Add Tetra Safestart to your filter after WC, to get that tank cycled. I would also start making that tank BW, to remineralize the RO water & help boost the puffer's immune system.

Re: Figure eight puffer has a cloudy eye
I have had good results by adding a drop of Melafix directly to the eye. Cloudy eye is usually due to poor water conditions. You can also dose the entire tank with Melafix.

Re: Figure eight puffer has a cloudy eye
Welcome! You cannot treat ich with heat, it only makes things worse. Ich is a gill parasite so when you raise the temp it makes breathing even more difficult for your fish. When you see the spots on their body, it means the gills are saturated. Treat with Ich-X & start making the tank brackish. ...

I really don't see anything serious here but you can go ahead & use Melafix.

How exactly did you cycle the tank during that week? What test kit are you using? Tank size? https://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/tnk-mgr/newtanksyndroments/ https://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/category/water-filtration/ https://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/library/water-filtration/...

Puffers are quite adept at camouflage & change patterns to match their environment. Looks similar to your rock in the background.

Prime would not give you a false positive, more like a false negative, as it detoxifies--not remove ammonia.

Re: Cycling 75 Gallon with seeded media
1ppm ammonia is extremely toxic. All from those shrimp? Are they all still living?
