Re: Porcupine Puffer Lockjaw

Vibrio is very common in the porcy species & yes, is extremely difficult to cure.
Thanks for the donation! I just paid to keep this forum open another year.

Re: Keeping Dwarf Puffers happy?

3 DPs in a 5g is just nuts! It is suggested to keep a single puffer in 3-5g.

Absolutely do NOT mix puffer species! Schoutedeni actually do quite well in groups, if the tank is large enough & there are lots of broken lines of sight. You could probably add 1 more & a few other fast-moving fish. There is no way to sex them. Some folks have had success breeding them.

Re: Gsp love cucumber

Pretty cool, you got them to eat their veggies! I think zucchini is more nutritious though.

Wow, all great stuff here, I love it! This is always what I want to hear about on this site. I actually hesitated to pay to re-up the fees to keep this site open today. So glad I did!

Re: Porcupine Puffer Lockjaw

Poor guy... Unfortunately, Vibro (flesh-eating disease) is rarely cured but you seem to have great people guiding you thru all this!

Re: Problem with GSP

Too bad--never buy a fish that doesn't look 100%. I'd treat for IPs anyway.

You are breeding the krill in a marine tank?

Re: Problem with GSP

Discontinue feeding them fish, they are not piscivores. Have they been treated for IPs? I am concerned about the live krill possible passing parasites to them. Where in the world do you even find live krill? What's the specific gravity?
