Re: 125 Gallon Puffer Tank
Looks like a fun tank to swim in! What's holdxing all that rock together & from falling down? How come no subsrate? Thanks! Most the rock is stacked so it is very stable. There are two pieces that are a little loose. I have to figure out how to fix that shortly. For now, they bite at the rock a...

Bird Beak Burrfish Update
So a few months ago I introduced ET, a bird beak burrfish who had been picked on by Angels and Triggers in an LFS. He's been with me for about 5 months now and has been doing great. His side fins (very technical description, I know  )have almost completly regrown and his tail fin is slowly comi...

Re: Arothron hispidus. Growth rate? (yunchin?)
Mine grew very fast also. Below is a picture when I first got her in June, '07. She was probably about 2 inches. That's 1/2 inch PVC. http://66.206.15.109/images/starr/Starr1.jpg Here's a more recent picture (not a great one though). She's about 6 or 7 inches long now. In the picture that's the same...

Re: Is this a burrfish?
Thanks everyone! We saw him twice before we bought him on our third visit. The store is 2 hours away. It is usually a good store. They had moved him from a "Trigger" tank to a "Tang" tank by the second time we saw him, but the damage was done. My 125 was going to be a puffer tank...

Re: Is this a burrfish?
Thank you both for your replies. I don't think he is a Bridled Burrfish (Chilomycterus antennatus). His burrs are pretty much all the same length. The picture I found of the Bridled Burrfish ( http://www.fishbase.org/Photos/PicturesSummary.cfm?ID=4299&what=species ) has different length burrs. I...

Is this a burrfish?
So this was labeled as a Burrfish at the LFS but I can't find anything that looks like it. It was being picked on terribly by triggers and other fish. It's tail was almost completly gone. It's been doing good with me, eating anything I put in front of it (as long as I use tongs to feed it). So far i...
