Bonsai_girl wrote:Are you going to continue keeping the survivors (ghost catfish) in high brackish?
No, I think I'll reduce salinity to around 1.005, gradually over the next few months.

Re: why do I bother? If it weren't for Buffy I'd give it up

Why is there salt in there? Was it in there before this happened? Are you keeping these FW fish with BW puffers? I'm confused... Please explain your regular WC schedute & answer the other Qs above in red. Yes. Salinity was 1.12-1.14 - It's considered Light Brackish! Yes, most were in there when...

4 catfish, 3 harlequins, 3 cherry barbs....... all floating dead this morning. GawdOnly knows what it was, it has me beat. Last night everyone swimming away and around quite happy, some hiding behind the filters as they usually do before bed. Others pecking the plastic greenery looking for morsel le...

t''s back! What to do now?

BLACK ALGAE in a Light Brackish Tank- Grrr Aparently does no harm to the fish, but is unsightly, and spreading like mad! How to get rid, once and for all!? Been black algae free for months, added another fish this week, and the black algae is back. A friend suggested putting bog wood in freezer to k...

Re: Sick GSP

If the photo you're referring to is the one in my profile, that's my Nibbler, my F8, he's doing great. He is healthy as can be and I did put different substrate in there since that picture was taken. It's hard to get a good picture of him though, he's constantly moving. I wasn't able to get a pictu...

Re: Sick GSP

Well.. I just went and checked on him and he was floating upsidedown... I put the net in because I thought he had died and he moved a bit... I wish I had some clove oil because I'm pretty sure he's not going to make it and I can't flush him if he's still breathing. He's just sitting on the bottom o...

Re: Sick GSP

I hate to say it, but I think 82 degrees is too high.
I keep Buffy (also a gsp) at a regular 77 degrees. Though the salininty is quite high at around 1.004/5, I keep the air pump going 24hrs.
She even laid some eggs for me a few weeks ago! So she must be healthy :)
