Re: List for 30 gallon

i love my gsp but i will never recover from the depression of not being able to get a valentini to put in his 90 gallon with him. they are SOOOOO cute. why can't puffers just suck it up and get along?

Re: Possible Ick situation...

Nas, how long has your fish had the spots?
i wouldn't use meds if it turns out to be ich, there's an article in the library about raising salinity and temperature that works. i cured my gsp by using that method.
my gsp was also in brackish water when he came down with it.

Re: Help....my GSP doesn't want to eat...

i used general cure on my gsp but it was recommended to me to cure only external parasites, not internal ones, which is probably why you should soak food in it instead of just adding it to the tank. as far as my experience goes, my gsp definately survived treatment unscathed but it didn't seem to ha...

Re: Help....my GSP doesn't want to eat...

as far as getting a gsp to eat mine has never refused an earthworm from the backyard (his absolute favorite!), but i only give them to him because i never use any fertilizers or pesticides! you could try that just to get some nutrition into him.

Re: Show your face!

lol. well i guess there is another option! although i will note it is far more complicated (albeit far less expensive) than the swipe of a credit card! their nasty recently promoted honey-based beverages (coffee+honey??? why?!?) are rather repulsive, but they even add a little vanilla to the whipped...

Re: Show your face!

as long as we're talking about pick-me-up beverages i just have to give a shout out to my lifesaver starbucks. i know these are loaded words and will most likely inspire hatred en masse, BUT i can't help my addictions! starbucks coffee and puffer fish tank accessories are my current most expensive w...

any clue what kind of puffers?

so im in the market to get another puffer and called the lfs to find out what was available in their 'freshwater puffer' section. in addition to the normal gsp, figure 8s, red eye/red tails i was told: gold green and green neon (are these two just another name for gsp?) hairy puffer (hairs of gold a...

Re: vampire face dogfish

lol, yes it is a quite fantastic bar. so i read the teeth trimming article, and would i just suggest a bigger container same ratio clove oil to water or does it need to be more concentrated for this big of a puff? and how dangerous is the clove-oil procedure, because when it yawns I can still see an...

vampire face dogfish

i don't actually own a dogfaced puffer myself but last night i went to a local bar and inbetween body shots and table dances I saw that they have a ~200 gallon aquarium there with a large (~1ft) dogfaced puffer. It had teeth that were too long for it to close it's mouth, but when it yawned we saw it...

Re: How did you find The Puffer Forum?

Re: Ich, cant seem to shake it...

my gsp recently had ich. with a temperature of 82 degrees and salinity at 1.005 (do you have a way of measuring salinity in your tank?), water changes at 50% almost daily, and vacuuming the gravel (this vacuums up the form of ich that sinks to the bottom and lies in gravel before swimming up to re-i...
