We also recently rescued a nearly dead F8 that was being kept in freshwater at an ignorant fish store. The poor fish was almost dead with a serious ich & fungal infection, ragged fins, emaciated shape and cloudy, fungus covered eyes. With a 'kill or cure' attitude we got him home and immediately...

Our Fahaka will eat mealworms and our palembangs love them, but neither species will eat superworms (sold here as jumbo mealworms), They bite them then spit them out.

With our Fahaka dental care is mostly pond snails, cooked prawns and crab legs & claws from the fishmonger.

The way I understand it, all puffers puff but some species do it more readily than others. Our Fahaka, Martha sometimes does it just to draw our attention when she wants something like food or her light on in the morning if we've been tardy getting out of bed. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/phillipnbe...

Ha, Does anyone else's Fahaka pull funny faces when pooing?
Martha gets this glassy-eyed look of intense concentration when she needs to go then she skulks off to a stand of plants in the corner and fertilizes them with a furtive grimace.
It's hilarious to watch!
