Re: Auriglobus nefastus
Pictures will be much appreciated for proper ID. Either way, most of these puffers have similar care requirements. What are you keeping them in at the moment? Your description of their active nature matches what I have seen in A. Silus fry.

Re: MBU and Fahaka Max size
Both fish are FW critters, but both have wide tolerances for water hardness. Both are active and strong hunter-predators with primarily invert feeding. Both are highly intelligent fish. I would guess that either can be expected to live long lives with proper care and housing, 15 -20+ years. Both ar...

Re: cleanliness is next to godliness
As a general rule of thumb, I always rinse everything off that is going in any of my tanks a couple times. If I have a small residue of soap on my hands still left over, I hope that the size of the aquarium will dilute it so much that it is not harmful. However, I try to avoid this as much as possib...

If you read the thread, you can see that he thought he was dead and the situation was hopeless because the fish looked terrible. However, he made a tremendous comeback and survived.OCgatergal wrote:Is so confused. He said, spoke to soon, he's dead. But then everyone's saying he lived

Re: Fahaka puffer ... did i get lucky ... ??
I'd say that you got extremely lucky, but it might only be a matter of time. Keep in mind that a fahaka that size can rip most smaller fish to shreds in a matter of seconds, so I would avoid putting anything expensive in there

Re: Fahaha Blew a Hole in It's Side!
That's kinda scary- I always try to avoid having any of my puffers puff under any circumstances. And a little sass on the last page haha

Re: Thinking of getting a Fahaka
It is quite frustrating to have a tank that large for just one fish IMO. I had one but I ended up selling him and now I have several fish in my 100G. Just think long and hard before you get one- they can be rather nasty but they have great personalities. If you honestly have your heart set on it, th...

Community puffer other than SAP?
Is there a medium sized (2'"-8") freshwater puffer that will tolerate other fish other than the South American Puffer? I would like to include a puffer in my 100G community, but I don't want to have to net out SAPs every month or so... tankmates will include tetras, a severum, and a betta....

Sentinel138, that eel is TINY! It's so cute! Imma do my 130G: Question 1:What is your favorite thing in your tank/tanks? My fire eel Question 2:How is your tank doing and how long have you been keeping puffers? Fine... Established well, but no puffers in this tank :( Question 3:Tell us about your fa...

Re: 125g puffer
I quickly checked Tetraodon pustulatus and it seems to be a rare species, whihc i dont really think i could find to get. Unless money really isn't an issue and you have crazy hookups, you will definitely not be able to obtain a pustulatus, guarenteed. I would go with a fahaka, they have great perso...

Re: Fahaka Puffers
The one thing I'd say is, do you really want to change tanks? Puffers are hard to move, as they can't be exposed to air - take it from someone who's moved twice with them! And with a fahaka being a lot bigger than my DPs, it could get complicated. And then there's the business of setting up the tan...

Probably a Modestus. I have owned both, and I have observed that A. Modestus is generally larger and darker/greener than A. Silus.
