Re: Can a GSP get lonely?

Ill measure the saltlevel and get back to you on that one. Tomorrow is water change day, so we'll measure it again tomorrow. I think its because we first got them from a LFS who sold them as FW fish. And then I read online that they deffinetly was not. Just like a lot of other people here :) Then we...

Re: Can a GSP get lonely?

Its because we've talked about getting rid of both of them. We've had a really hard time trying to make them comfortable. But I have a "connection" to one of them. So I dont really feel like getting rid of it. Its not that I dont like the other one. It just doesnt really seem to be complet...

Can a GSP get lonely?

We have two GSP's. But we're thinking of giving one of them away. So my question is, if it is better to have two GSP's in a big tank (250+ltrs) or one GSP in a smaller tank?(112 ltrs)

Re: GSP's puffing???

(By the way, the GSP is fine and swimming next to me right now apparently no worse for wear - no GSPs were harmed in the making of this post!) Lol :) I've never seen any of mine puff either. Perhaps it takes a lot to make GSP's puff? But I think there is one site where there is a picture. I'll try ...

Re: Where does your puffer sleep?

Our three gsp's sleep under a root. All three of them together. They dont seem to hostile towards each other. Unless its feeding time. So they all cuddle up under there. I do now I will have to change the root to a fake on, but I want one that looks a lot like it. So they wont lose their hiding place.

I've just googled some more and I found a page where the salt is a litllte bit cheaper. And it says on that page that Red Sea salt is gathered naturally. But is Red Sea salt the right thing to use? Im still confused by the sea salt/marine salt thing :) Just like with the hydrometer. I asked for one ...

Re: Salt

The salt that i buy at my localfish store is 79 kr for 2 kg. Which is about 13,41 dollars for 2 kgs. But now im actually all confused. The salt i buy at my lfs is red sea salt. Which is the wrong kind then? I just thought you ment sea salt when you said marine salt. Because i havent found anything b...

Re: Salt

Around here the sea salt is really expensive, so we would actually pay less to buy kitchen sea salt. But that is just the problem, because if there has been added something extra good stuff to the salt from our LFS then we will use that. But what we where thinking was that in nature they dont get th...

Salt

This might be a stupid question, but bare with me. I know that i have to need to use sea salt for my BW tank, but can i use normal sea salt. Like the kind you would buy for your food? Not plain whithe grained salt. But the chunky kinda thing that comes from the sea? Because that ought to be the same...

Re: The not so happy story of how i got GSPs

Yes i have studied this forum really hard :) I do have the right kind of salt. (and its not exactly cheap!) But i dont have a hydrometer. We have just been taking a close look at how much water we where taking out and then adding the same amount, with new salt. But im gonna check for a hydrometer to...

The not so happy story of how i got GSPs

My boyfriend and I went to our LFS three weeks ago and saw the cutest little fish ever. Looked kinda like a fat hummingbird with dots. So we brought this fish home to our FW akvarium believing it was an easy fish. Thats what the store owner told us. You can perhaps imagine how terified i was when i ...
