i might need to check into brackish too, just thought it would be a pain also to monitor the salinity, ph, etc. thanks for the links.

i might have to hold off another couple of weeks before i get a tank......trying to get my half sleeve....haha

wow. this is what i was looking for. i am not trying to make it sound as if i am lazy, but right now the military occupies majority of my time, so i have to find something that doesnt require a lot of maintenance. I guess i need to stick to the freshwater, lol. I really want a tank again bad though....

Ok, so how much more work is it to maintain a brackish tank for a puffer vs a freshwater tank? Again, I had a freshwater tank before, but what more would be required for the brackish. Wow 75%.....How stocked is your tank?

I was only in the hobby for a year or so before I had to sale my tank, but I always checked my water every week. Never had any real problems.

Yes the filtration does make sense, thanks. Yea, most of the local stores mainly carry those three particularly. If I cant find anthing local, is it recommended to ship or not. I dont know if they are more sensitive to shipping than than fish with scales. I would hate to get one with ich right away....

Tank/Puffer Size

I am thinking about getting back into the hobby and want to pretty much only deal with puffers. I had two before and loved them. However, I am thinking about a much smaller tank which will keep the maintenance down. I am looking at getting a 12 or 24 gallon nano style or eclipse bowfront style tank....
