I've been wanting to do this, just never got around to buying what I needed. I made a simple tunnel using pvc connectors and buried it under the gravel. with a little more research I found that a couple people say ich can only infect fish.

Will Ich affect snails/ghost shrimp
I started up a new tank and the fish just got what looks like Ich. I'm moving them to a hospital tank and all that jazz, but will i have to move the ghost shrimp and snails out of the main tank too? That'd be a pain, so I hope that ich doesn't target them. Thanks.
