Re: Best layout for gsp tank UPDATE
Since changing my gsp's tank around he is a different fish! He now spends his days exploring, attacking the decor and eating the plants! I honestly thought gsp's were strictly carnivorous but not my little chap! At first I thought maybe a snail had escaped his clutches and was devouring the greenery...

Re: Best layout for gsp tank
Some of the plants are fake, the vallisneria and the carolina fanwort are supposed to do o.k in brackish tanks but only time will tell, they can always be replaced with plastic if they don't do well. The pacing has stopped for now anyway,he's been investigating all day so hopefully he likes it!

Best layout for gsp tank
I have a gsp in a 3 ft 35g tank. It has sand substrate and plenty of rocks, a few plants around the back and sides. It looks lovely but my puffer paces the glass quite a lot, how can i make it better for him?

tankmates for my gsp
I've had my gsp for nearly a week now and he's doing great. The only worry i have is if he's bored? He's in a 35g tank with loads of plants, rocks and a bubble curtain but sometimes he swims up and down looking lonely. I know the tank isn't big enough to accommodate another gsp but is there anything...

I used a strip, then separate dropper tests to confirm, and yes i did thaw and drain worms first. Anyway, i think i have found the problem. I just called the shop where i bought him and they told me he was in salt water, all their fish are. As you can imagine i am fuming and also kicking myself for ...

he is no more than an inch, maybe a little under.Yes he is in freshwater at the mo, he was in fw at the lfs too. I was planning on waiting couple of weeks and then starting to gradually up the salinity. What do you mean by chewed up? I don't think he'd been attacked at lfs as he didn't look this way...

Here are some pics, i know they're not fantastic but you should be able to make out the white stuff round his mouth and left eye. http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m93/abijones_2006/puffer003.jpg http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m93/abijones_2006/puffer004.jpg http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m...

Sorry i just thought this was a more relevant place for it and i wanted to mention the other symptoms that have appeared. My reply to nick seems to have dissapeared so i will just state again that it is a mature tank and todays water test results were ammonia and nitrite 0, nitrate 5.0ppm He has cha...

Bought a gsp yesterday, doesn't look too good.
We bought our gsp yesterday, he's about 1 inch long. He seemed fine yesterday and happily ate the snails i gave him, seemed very active buzzing around the tank. Today is a different story, he's just sitting on the bottom, he wouldn't eat the frozen blood worm i put in and i'm really worried. I lost ...
