He may have gone into shock...if you think about it, it's a very unusual injury for a fish to have, and in terms of percentage coverage, it'd be quite big.
Sorry to hear that...make sure you get that cover for your heater to prevent this happening in the future.
Poor little guy.
Pami.

Aw. Glad to hear that. That ich'll probably hang around for a bit longer, so carry on with his treatment till he's been free of spots for - is it three weeks or four? You've taken such good care of him, and now he's eating, it sounds like he's decided to take care of himself. Happy to hear he's pull...

D'oh...my bad, yes, of course you should LOWER it. I'm just used to the idea of RAISING the SG for ich that I forgot to think! Hopefully, lowering the SG will take care of those copepods as well. Definately raise the temp to shorten the lifespan of the ich. Whatever you do, don't use copper....it ca...

Might be an idea to move this to the Hospital. Totally second what PP and CFP have said...big water changes, that's definately your first priority, then a varied diet. You need to get yourself a test kit as well - one with ammonia, nitrAte and nitrIte tests in, as well as pH. I should imagine after ...

You should treat him with a higher salinity in his present tank. I think if you move him at the moment, you'll be pushing your luck - the ich is a sign he's stressed out already. What SG is he at now? Carry on with the Melafix to help him heal and also to soothe the irritation from the ich. Dipping ...

Good on you for saving him, but you'll have to keep an eye on his tankmates now, as if he does have some parasites or similar, he could pass them on. However, give him a month to fill out, as he sounds like he was in a bad state. Keep an eye on the others and watch for them losing weight, just in ca...

Are the white bugs like tiny little worms or are they actual bugs-with-legs-and-such? If they're like little worms, it's planaria, which usually dies off, if they're arthropod type things (legs, creepy-crawlies) it could be copepods, but I'm gleaning this from previous threads, and can't remember mu...

What's the history of the puffer? How long have you had him, what's your water change schedule, what're you feeding him, what are the water parameters? I agree with PP that there may be a parasite, or something in the water's irritating him. Melafix will soothe any irritation, but won't solve the ca...

Have a look through the gallery. You mean fluviliatis yes? Gsps (nigroviridis) have a flourescent green patch on the top of their head, and the top of their bodies are greeny-yellow with distinct black spots and a white belly. The fluviliatis (Ceylon) has dark patches on a muddier looking background...

Oh dear...I think it's most likely your puff has had them. yeah, this teeth thing...I've got two F8s, and Robert doesn't bother scraping the last bits out of the shell like Mags does, so he's got big teeth which I'm waiting to trim as soon as I think they're problematic. Mags on the other hand has a...
