Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

There's some chasing going on at the moment and new boy spends a fair bit of time hiding from the valentini. I know you take chances with any puffer, but anyone for any ideas? The new boy has plenty of hiding spaces but I dint want him dying of stress. I am contemplating trying him in my 155L reef t...

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Agreed. I have seen my valentini take the one nip at a toadstool leather but i wouldn't trust them with more precious corals at all. I just have a few mushrooms and some leathers in the tank at the moment which I hope to increase numbers of, but it will all depend on how the two tobys behave as to w...

Re: Valentini puffer and largish shrimps

How have you got on with this Larry? I have a cleaner shrimp in my reef tank and it annoys all the corals so I would be interested in seeing how your valentini got on with the larger shrimps. I know it's a risk with any puffer/crustacean combo, but my tobys don't bother my corals at all or the blue ...

Re: Help with Valentini Puffer Diet

Mine are happily grazing on small marine snails that I seem to breed easily in my pico tank and I also crush up defrosted clams and drop them in the tank so they have to chew through the bits of shell to get to the meat. Small shrimps too :)

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Well, my tank is now fully stocked fish wise with a gorgeous Leopard Toby who has already settled in nicely with Moomin, Zippy and Norman :D Here it is... he's had the inspection from Moo while in bag http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a246/jennybugs/Akva%20marine/to1.jpg http://i12.photobucket.com/a...

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Look who's out and about! I came home from work today to be amazed to see the blue cheek goby right out in the open and not even fussed about seeing me staring in at him. Even when I grabbed the camera he didn't budge and I was pleased to see he's fattening up well :D He's a handsome devil http://i1...

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Well I had not expected to be so taken with the Valentini's but when I saw this little chap out of a group of three they had in, the fact he kept coming up to the glass to look at me rather than flee from my big face, really endeared me to him  I would love a leopard but the val is so cute ...

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

So, I am a little upset. Went to pick up the two tobys from My LFS and the P. solarensis was missing from the tank. On enquiring (thinking the fish had been sold) I was told he died some time during the week! I am so saddened by that news, especially as the owner had pm'd me before she went on holid...

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Oh mushrooms I can do with ease  I have them dotted everywhere in my other tank. That would leave space for new corals in that tank too :D

Im going to move them all over tonight with any luck. I love this stage o a new tank!

Re: My Toby Tank...a progressive thread

Glad to report all is well with the two tobys who are the best of pals in the LFS tank along with a longnose hawkfish and all are coming home with me soon. The tank is all hunky dory and ready to rock and roll and the corals are going in tomorrow evening but not being secured in case I need to whip ...
