Thanks so much guys. You've all be very helpful... With cycling I used the quick cycle and then put some plants etc in the tank and let it airate for a week and then I put the fish in and continued to use the cycle as instructed on the bottle. Is that correct? I will wash all the equipment with lemo...

White Spot Contamination

I have a question...I recently lost all my fish to whitespot (I set up a new tank, cycled it, left it cycling for a week bought some Tetras from the LFS and one of them obviously had whitespot. I followed all the instructions for treating it but unfortunately was unsuccessful) and now have an empty ...

I Want A Puffer

Thanks Bred Hi Pamela - I got 3 GSP accidently, fell in love with them and then had to return them to the LFS which was very sad but I decided that I shouldn't get a bigger tank because my boyfriend and I are planning to immigrate to NZ and we are saving money for that which should happen sometime i...

Hi Nicole Please don't get scared off by these guys, they all mean well but sometimes can come across a little harsh for us new ones. I got 3 green spotted puffers and put them in a 12gallon tank and was promptly told to return them to the LFS which I did with a heavy heart. I did everything I could...

NEW MEMBER - CAPE TOWN

I was one of those silly people who walked into the LFS and got suckered into buying the cutest fish I'd ever seen only to then do research on it and find out how high maintenance they are. Dont get me wrong, I'm up for the challenge but I'm in a bit of a pickle now because I have a very small fresh...

Hi There, I sooooo know how you feel like. Its all a bit overwhelming isn't it. I did exactly the same thing the other day and ended up having to take the other fish back to the LFS and am now left with a tank that is far too small and 3 puffers in FW (fresh water) which I am gradually changing to B...

Overfeeding Puffers

The other day I went into the fish store (something I have made a concerted effort not to do for a while now in case I would be unable to resist setting up a tropical fish tank again). As I suspected, I ended up falling in love with 3 little green spotted puffers and couldn't resist taking them home...
