Re: Getting reay to take on some DPs!!
I keep cherry shrimp with my dps. After chasing them around initially the dps seem to ignore them now. They breed so fast if a few get picked off it's no big deal. I have thought of MTS myself but the puffers wouldn't eat many and once introduced they are forever. For clean up crew I have had great ...

Re: Snails not breeding no more...
Snail populations are often self regulating based on food sources. I have found that if I am trying to breed lots of snails I over feed the tank with any fish food flake or pellets. You do have to maintain an aggressive and regular cleaning schedule to prevent poor water quality. This is why I tend ...

Re: Pea puffer tank set up
Java moss and java fern are great plants that will grow in almost any light with no additives. I tie mine to rocks or wood with green thread it blends in well. Any substrate should be fine as you won't be planting into it. On that tank I would use some assortment of leds they come in all kinds of sm...

I wouldn't worry until it's been more than a week.
I feed mine tiny pond snails and frozen blood worms.

Looks like a plaembang to me. That spotty stomach is distinctive. ug.php/v/PufferPedia/Freshwater/T_Palembangensis/

Re: Live Plants w/ Fahaka...
I have jungle Vals, a couple of types of crypts, amazon swords, anubias, java fern and some "where di that come from" hornwort and Bella does mess with any of them unless there is a snail or shrimp sitting on it.

Re: Small Fahaka
Well he looks pretty good to me. When you say three inches are we talking body only or including tail? If he is healthy and eats well I think he will grow more. Maybe he is just a late bloomer like I hope mine is. My Fahaka is about 14 months old and is only about 7" including tail. I got her a...

I know it's hard but you did the right thing. Wait until you see him in his new home, I'm sure you will be so happy to see him swimming around with more space. It would be fun to be there when they first release him and watch his reaction.

Re: Fighting or frisky?
Wow! I have to admit I have had worse luck with DPs than any other puffer. I will keep an eye out and beef up the plants and decor in the shrimp tank just incase.

Re: Fighting or frisky?
I'll post some pics of the tank. There are quite a few caves and a big hollow log and the plants have been growing for months. If I identified another male I would have not put it in the tank. PP did you think it was aggressive behavior then. Should I remove one of the females? I have another 20long...

Re: who's the the biggest mbu? and how old?
I watch my 7" Fahaka swim around in it's 180g 6x2x2 tank and I think she looks great, lots of room to swim around and explore in the plants and caves. I look ahead to her getting near her 18" maximum size and even though my tank is 60 gallons and 2 feet bigger than "minimum size"...
