Thank you for all of your valuable help and advice. Unfortunately, we did not have a happy ending. He died almost a week ago. I was surprised at how I reacted when my husband called me at work to tell me the news - I cried. I hadn't realized how attached I had become - they really do have wonderful ...

Thank you Pufferpunk and Puffer Queen for your responses. I have anesthesized a F8, but need to know how much clove oil and water to use for a larger puffer. Do you know about how many cc's of food to feed and which foods should I mash together? Do I get the tube at the LFS or hardware store? I stil...

I did a search as Pufferpunk suggested. I found an article that says to give them vitamin B but doesn't say how to administer or how much to give. Another post has someone saying that they are treating this malady with iodine and vitamin B. Again, how much and how is it done? I don't think the teeth...

Krill has been the food given most often and until looking at the other post about a krill-fed puffer we did not know that this could be a problem. He also gets the other foods mentioned. He can open his mouth a little. Is there anything that can help him? We're very attached and upset. We were told...

Help! Sick Porcupine Puffer

I have a problem with my porcupine puffer. We have our fish for about a year and he has always been a voracious eater and now we can't get him to eat anything - not even a fiddler crab. He usually eats frozen krill that has been thawed and he sucks them in whole. We also suppliment with dried krill,...

GSP and F8

both of these guys are little and I have a 29g sw that will be available to the GSP when I upgrade to my 125 sw. The pleco eats well and has been there for sev. months. It has gotten a little bigger but this type shouldn't get bigger than 3-4 inches.

Plecos and BW

I have a pleco in the tank with a GSP and a F8. The SG is 1.004 and there have been NO problems. The three have been together for several months.

Brand preference?

We are moving to SW and are going to buy a 100+ aquarium for a porcupine puffer. The most common brands that we see around here are Oceanic and Universal. Is one really better than the other? We would love to hear your opinions on this before we make the investment. I am teaching summer school and t...

long teeth and new GSPs

My figure 8 has long teeth that I think need to be trimmed. He can eat brine shrimp, but has difficulty eating freeze-dried shrimp. It doesn't look like he can close his mouth all the way either. Does anyone know how to trim their teeth? I also have a GSP in the aquarium with the F8. The GSP doesn't...
