Snail eggs that fell in from above the water line, maybe? I've seen orange colored snail eggs before.

I don't think snails could lay a clutch in mere seconds, though.

I will go ahead and locate and read those articles. I never knew the instant cycle stuff was any good. Just never really trusted it for some reason, but then again, have never had to try it.
