Re: Just planted my tank -- check out the PICS!!!!
Mike, Your tank is absolutely beautiful! And that is one hell of a marimo ball you have in there on the right side. I was shocked to read that your water sprite died. I couldn't get mine to stop growing and I was doing things pretty much the same as you. My water is very very hard though. I have a d...

Re: red worm explosion
Seriously I'm getting really frustrated with these larvae. I know that's what they are now because I've squashed some adult insects that were on the wall by my tank. They are leaving brown funk all over my tank in the form of little cocoons that disengrate when they "hatch". I JUST cleaned...

Re: MARINE SAND
I have no problem keeping my sand clean with a regular syphon. The syphons are usually so weak that it sucks up the muck but not much of the sand. I still see some sand in my bucket though after I pour the water out but not much.

Re: New to this hobby
Welcome :D I bet that because your tank is new the cloudy water you are seeing is a bacterial bloom. The bacteria are going bonkos because the balance between wastes and bacteria hasn't been reached. I'm getting them now in my tank right after a water change because I've really upset the biofilter (...

Re: BW plants???
Oh, I forogt to add that I put flourite below the aquasoil. The problem is that sometimes the flourite gets mixed in with the aquasoil and it looks funny!! The plants seem to really like it though!!

Re: BW plants???
Good luck! Brackish is so fun! I have the most recent pics on my camera phone. After I re-aquascape this aquarium I'll be sure to post some pics. :) It's ADA style with black aquasoil in the left back corner and in the right back corner. In the middle is just plain sand. It turned out nicely and giv...

red worm explosion
OMG, someone has to know what these are. :( OK, so I have no fish in my tank. I had 3 figure 8's but won't get into how I lost them. The reason I mention this is because possibly the puffers were eating the worms and I never noticed them before. Anyway, it's been about a week or so since I lost my f...

This tank is about a year old. The lotus and dwarf sag I've had for about 6 mos? The crypt as stated I've had forever!! It's probably the prettiest plant in my tank. You really need to check out plantgeek.net. It's an excellent resource for planted tanks! I bought my tiger lotus and sag online at aq...
