I have had my goldy for over 2 years. About 4 months ago I noticed he has problems breathing. His breathing problems were so bad that he would be swimming and immediately fall to the sand bed. my blue spotted puffers teeth are all broken .
Do these puffers teeth continually grow?
will the puffers teeth grow back?

I am pretty sure that my puffer has some sort of gill disease. I am treating with cupramine.

I have never handled my puffer. Also his side fin is functioning fine. I am thinking of putting him in qt and treating him with melafix. I am just unsure and don't want to cause more harm than good.

The puffer just opened his gill again. I would assume the problem with the fish is his gill. what can I do?

I just noticed that one of his gills is completely closed.
I don't know if it has been this way the entire time or just occurred.
He doesn't appear to be breathing out of this one gill at all. His other gill is working overtime.
What would cause this and how do I treat it?

I retested for nitrites this morning and it came back at 0ppm.

Does anyone think it could be lack of O2?

I added 2 MJ1200's for more water movement.
If his gills were burned, how long before he recovers?

4ft across. I don't recall the height, but it's tall. The tank isn't set up yet. All my fish are currently housed in a 210g.

I would be placing them in my 190g full hex.
I didn't know if they would get along.

I have a 9" anthron meg (golden) and I am setting up a 190g full hex acrylic tank. I have been reading that puffers and acrylics don't mix well due to the beak grinding on the acrylic. I am interested in people's experience putting puffers in acrylic and would love to see some pics.
