Re: PP's Burr
*sigh* Sad update. :( I just got home from work, and found BabyBurr Devlin passed on. She, as well as the rest of our salties, were in our 75gal for hypo cuz she kept getting cloudy eyes and persistent ich on her tail fin (the rest of the fish were in there so we could keep the tank fallow for 8 wee...

Re: PP's Burr
I'm uploading the pictures now, but we have to head out, so here's the link to the album the pics are in. I'll post individual pics later: http://s224.photobucket.com/albums/dd74/salve_starshine/Our%20pets/ I started calling her Devlin, but with her being so skinny, it just seemed like such a big na...

Re: PP's Burr
She's been eating like a little piglet. To fatten her up more, we're trying to feed her more than once a day (when I'm not working). So hopefully she'll get rid of that sunken belly soon, she already has a little bit, which is nice, but she's still too skinny for our liking.

PP's Burr
So the little tyke finally arrived a few days ago, and she was emaaaaciated (the guy said he didn't feed her for 3 days before shipping)!! To make it worse, she wouldn't eat her first night here, which I guess is normal. So I tried feeding her a scallop the next day and, she finally ate a little. Ye...

Re: What is the biggest F8 You seen??
No experience with F8s, just wanted to mention that fish are usually measured from the tip of their nose/mouth/chin, to where the body ends (the fleshy part around the tail) and it's usually called standard length. Then they measure the tail separately, then there's another measurement where they me...

Re: i just fed my ceylon puffer a carrot...
We feed ours frozen veggies once in a while, though they don't really like carrots, they kind of like peas, but what they really love is corn. It's more of a treat, just to get some extra vitamins and what not in them, and lots of other members do it as well, including PP, I think. As long as it's n...

Re: Pictures for sexing DPs
Myaj, if you think they'll be helpful, you can add them. I'll leave it up to your discretion. Mareva, he seems to have it all the time. But he should be at least 3 years old (we adopted him from someone, and she said she'd already had him for 3 years. She also said he was a GSP, but anyway...) so we...

Re: Help me ID my Puffer
All the pictures look like green spotted to me. T. fluviatilis have stripes on their back instead of spots, like this:

Re: "Pufferfish" in different languages
I've seen dwarfs and GSPs labelled as "baby/doll/baby doll fish" in LFSs. I'd write down my own personal brand of pinying, but I can't figure out how to write "fish" - there just isn't anything that sounds the same in English.

Re: "Pufferfish" in different languages
Mandarin is "huh twoon." Not proper Pinying, because I never learned to do that properly. But the first word, I think means lake (again, my mandarin sucks), and not sure what the second word means, but it's the same second word as in dolphin (hai twoon, first word is sea). Crazed...
