Re: I-Pod Suggestions
The choice for me is between portability or not, if you are looking for a home sound unit the go for the largest capacity iPod and check compatibility with speaker systems, if portable then size and battery life would be my main concerns.

Re: Antivirus
I spend most of my week cleaning virus, spyware and malware off other people’s computers. The single biggest problem is that updates are not regularly done. As a new virus is created there is always going to a period of time when it can cause damage before the anti-virus companies are made aware and...

Available at chemists, 200ml 3% solution is less than a pound.pufferpuggirl wrote:I don't believe you can buy hydrogen peroxide over here, which is silly, as I always liked soaking my earrings in it.
And yeah, I liked the fizz too!

Re: Breeding snails...Sorry!
I have bred Ramshorn and Apple snails for my Fahaka. I got both from eBay put them in separate 80 litre tanks and put in a heater set to 27, a small pump with half the media missing to circulate the water, a few rocks and bogwood and left them to it. I throw in leftover green veg and salad stuff and...

Try feeding first, switch off the light and then do a water change.

You could try adding more air, mine loves playing in the bubbles.
Mine is a bit bigger but regularly goes a few days without food.

Re: Fahaka swimming/resting on his side.
What size is your fahaka?
The frozen food is being defrosted for an hour?
I would be tempted to do a 80 percent water change.
Try getting fresh mussels, small crabs and ramshorn snails if you can.

Re: fahaka in a planted tank?
I have given up with the whole planted tank idea, it's the fahaka I want so it will have to be rocks!

Mine doesn't eat them but does chew at them, I end up with a lot of floating plants.

Re: can i freeze live mussels
I feed my fahaka with frozen live mussels and have done for a year.
I buy from Tesco/Sainsbury, sort any that are open and throw away, then wash and freeze the rest.
Thaw in tank or vitamin water for an hour before feeding.

Re: Is there such a thing as a kind fahaka?
No to be fair there was always going to be a risk adding other fish, but a 5 x 2 x 2 is a big tank with one fish so I decided to add two small fish as a test. I watched them for a long time and I never suspected she would attack. The molly is larger than the platty and again I knew there was a risk....

Re: Is there such a thing as a kind fahaka?
Well I have had mine just about a year in a 5 x 2 x 2 and its female approx 5-7 inch without tail and mostly has shared the tank with one plec. I regularly hand feed her and I would say she is a friendly fish, ie greets you when you come in and responds to input. Four weeks ago I thought I would try...
