Re: How Much Time Do You Spend...

Blimey,
Well I have 2 30 gal tanks and it only takes me about 20 mins to do a gravel vac and water change 1-2 times per week, sometimes more. And one of those tanks is brackish.

Suvattii Puffer Activity

Hi all, As you know, I have a 6" Suvattii Puffer. I managed to get him to eat last week after Pufferpunk advised me to offer him an earthworm. I've noticed however that he very rarely moves. If he does, its only to re-bury himself in the sand. I noticed looking through the threads that some of ...

Re: Suvatti puffer not eating

Ive tried leaving food in there, but like Pufferpunk I dont like leaving food in there too long. He just wouldnt take anything that I left in there.
Thankfully the worms have worked, at least he's eating.

Yes I dug it up, but they dont use any chemicals in the ground round here.
I'll try source some earthworms from a store somewhere for future use :)

Re: Suvatti puffer not eating

HI Pufferpunk,
Managed to try an earthworm. Was actually worried the worm would drown before the puffer got tempted? But as soon as I went out of his view, he chomped the whole lot. Yay! :)
Thank you :)

Re: Suvatti puffer not eating

Where can i get an earthworm from? I've never seen any round here. Yes his belly looks really thin. Other than being skinny, he seems fine in himself. His breathing is normal, unless I look at him and then he starts breathing heavy until I walk away again, lol. He doesnt swim around at all, unless he...

Re: November POTM - Winner Announced!!!

Hey. Yeah number 4 are my GSP's. I'm not expecting them too get along for too long! The plan is to seperate them into another tank as they get bigger. It might happen sooner rather than later if the one that is growing much faster keeps growing! They get along fantastic at the moment. I'm glad we ca...

Re: Shell on shrimp UK

I can always find shell on prawns in sainsburies on the fresh fish deli counter. But you often need to go earlier in the day as they sell out quick. They also sell live, shell on mussles which are great for wearing down teeth. My puffers will take a nibble at the shell while they are trying to get t...

Re: Different GSP sizes

I got my 4 GSP's from the same tank at the lfs. 3 of them havent grown much since I got them a few months ago. One of them has grown at least half an inch since i got them. They all eat about the same amount of food but one of them seems to be growing whilst the others arent!

I havent seen him go to the toilet, but then i havent been watching him enough to see.

constipation.

I guess this belongs here. My larger GSP who seems to be growing faster than the others. He's about 2" now. The others are still 1.5". Anyway, he looks really bloated and i can see his anus for the first time. Im guessing its constipation or something. So, I fed him a pea yesterday, which ...
