Re: What's wrong with him?

As RTR has said, the effects of ammonia on the gills can be persistent - if a high level of damage was done, the fish can't breath correctly, which can lead to a number of symptoms including those you report - symptoms that closely match anoxia. The healing process is not going to begin until ammoni...

Re: Hexamita in puffers?

A number of protozoan infections can cause various IP symptoms. Because of poor treatment in pet stores(one large dose then no retreatments), heximita and other protozoans may be resistant to metronidazole, one of the reasons I like to keep flubendazole around - it occasionally helps with protozoan ...

Re: DP's Not Thinking??

I use marineland replacement filter intakes on tanks for small fish lately. The pointed shape of the aquaclear filters takes in more debris, but the large basket distributes the force of the intake pulling water over such a large area even baby DPs can get away after bumping into it.

Re: Have you noticed this?

I just got to this thread using the "first unread post" icon click... from a post reguarding IP addresses in the mod chat areas. BTW, it can be ultimately defeated by using the "mark topics read" button - the next time a first unread post icon appears, it has another chance to be...

I can't bring myself to post over there, it's tough enough getting people to trust your advice when several others back it, but with the amount of noise there... It's just most peoples nature to follow the council they get which is most akin to what they know. Most people, however, "know" ...

Re: For that "Special' Kind of WC!

Yea, the community has so many combinations and such broad strokes, if you do a really thorough inventory of what is considered "queer" you're almost certain to hit on something you or at least one of your friends likes that makes the list.

Re: Intel Processors (FSB question)

Just the clock increase should make a bit difference in most benchmarks, other than those based totally on HDD and RAM performance. See if your bios has a utility that will let you lock the multipliers on the RAM and FSB, but overclock the proc. If you have duel channel memory (which you may, would ...

Re: For that "Special' Kind of WC!

My understanding after getting the homosexual-friendly tour of San Diego and surrounding regions is that with bears, it isn't necessarily hairy all over, so much as a subculture where classical manly appearance (which includes beards, body hair, etc) is considered most appealing, running counter to ...

Re: For that "Special' Kind of WC!

RTR wrote:"You gotta have a gimmick if you want to get ahead..." from "Gypsy"
If I remember wasn't the line right before that something like "First, you've got to have no talent. But you need more than no talent, you need a gimmick."

Re: Intel Processors (FSB question)

The key question here is if your RAM is running duel channel or not. If it is, you want your RAM speed to be exactly half your FSB, so each channel runs simultaniosly at full speed while the FSB runs at full speed. If not, the closer your RAM speed to your FSB the better, but their is no benefit to ...

Re: Two fish?

Dwarf frogs are not something I would trust a kid to take care of, though. The little guys are nearly blind, so their food has to be very actively moving right in their face, or very stinky sinking stuff. The only clean way I've found to feed them is from a dropper with blackworms in it spot feeding...

If you have a very large sump, it will depend on the degree to which the fish compete for space in the tank.

Re: Need facts on Puffer poision quickly!

It's really, really unlikely you are contaminated with deadly poison. Even if the fish had enough to be noticeable still stored in its system, the toxin spreads VERY slowly through flesh, so topical contact without broken skin would just be a local problem. Eating the toxin or contacting it with bro...

Re: SW Macroaglae Tanks anyone?

That's something I noticed myself, and I'm wondering if it will continue. Everyone told me to treasure my childhood, because it's the only time I would get away with being so ignorant. The same with high school, then college - everyone said enjoy it while it lasts. First I heard 20 is where you get ...
