Re: Sea salt
I think the Instant Ocean is as expensive as the other ones here in Canada. The natural sea salt I'm talking about seems to be food grade. I don't think it will carry any pathogens.

Re: Sea salt
Right now I'm using Omega sea premium reefsalt. But I don't keep live coral and don't plan to. I read that if I only keep fish, they don’t need the additional minerals added in the marine salt. Doesn't nature sea salt have minerals in it?

Sea salt
I just realized that my 45 gallon tank for one small GSP actually requires a ton of salt to maintain... I keep the salinity at 1.018, and every week the change of water takes 6 to 7 cups of reef salt. I am running out of the $80 per bucket marine salt within 3 months. I did some research and a...

Re: GSP getting bullied by a... Molly? What?
I had to remove the mollies from GSP's tank also. My puffer played dead around them by showing them the belly and turned all grey, multiple times!! After I removed the mollies, my puffer went back to normal, with bright colors and white belly and eating happily. LOL

Re: GSP not eating crab legs
I did cut open a whole section of the leg. He picked the meat off the open leg, and then start dashing to the unopened section. It was fun watching him to put some effort into it, but he seems to try to pick on the meat only and avoid the shells.

Re: GSP not eating crab legs
I saw him more like sucking the meat off the shell. LOL. If the meat is a bit inside the leg shell tube, he would back off a few inches and then dash to put his mouth inside the tube and grab the meat.

Re: Brackish water decor
I have the same question.
I'm also thinking of a rock and coral skeleton tank. I saw a picture someone posted on Pinterest with a mix of black lava rocks and white coral skeleton in one central pile, and it looks beautiful. Relatively minimalist look.

Re: GSP not eating crab legs
Thanks for answering! I will try to find some raw clams and crayfish.
I tried to cut and open the crab leg this time. He loves the meat, but still avoid to work on the shell...
He is just too smart. LOL

GSP not eating crab legs
I'm a new owner of a 2" GSP. :D He is living in a 45G brackish tank by himself right now. By now, I've tried frozen clams, frozen shrimp tails, and frozen small blue crabs. I just noticed that the frozen clams are actually cooked clams, which makes the meat too easy to come off the shells. I do...
