Re: Rehoming female pea puff into 15 gal but want to add more
I've had success with harem ratios, even under 6, but they are way more shy. One male for 2 to 3 females will work but I'd say 15g is not enough. It also works as a couple, one male and one female (never two males, even two females in a 10 would get weird, I've had quarantine scenarios that started ...

Re: dwarf puffers in a cube tank
I'd go for cherry shrimp. There's gonna be a shrimp snack here and there, and half of the shrimplets will be puffer food, but I have thriving neocaridinas colonies in my dp tanks. Mostly I've seen female dps eat adult shrimp during breeding periods. Never seen a male do it yet. Only thing is that yo...

Re: MEDICINE
I've used esha2000 and gdex on pea puffers with no issue with recommended dosage, in hospital tank or main tank. I've noticed that pea puffers do not enjoy full dosage of esha eXit. If ich I would not use recommended dosage. Also beware that in some cases, even though these medicines are labeled shr...

Re: Pea puffers with dario dario?
I already have several communities with DPs, I was more curious about the behavior of a breeding group of Dario dario. Only fish that ended up a little bullied by peas were pygmy cories. But no real damage besides stress. Shrimp are always cool in puffer tanks. They only eat baby shrimplets, very ra...

Pea puffers with dario dario?
Hello puffer fans, I'm looking into relatively "local" mates for a future big tank with a large group of peas. I was thinking some dario darios even if I can't find any lady dario. Would it be a good idea...? Has anyone here tried a group of peas with a harem of Dario dario? And what about...

Re: dwarf puffers in a cube tank
Wow it's fun how my tank born puffer baby had exactly the same markings at that size!!! Glad your adults leave them alone!
My baby started growing rapidly when I started daily live baby brine.
Hope you have females in the babies. Please keep documenting!

Re: Hello puff world
Well when I first got a baby dp, I thought it was a failure before seeing the baby. When removing the parents I put a female betta in the tank to keep the pygmy cories company. A day later, I saw the baby puff in a corner. It seemed pretty peaceful, the betta mostly ignored the tiny pea, but after t...

Re: Breeding Dwarf Puffers
Hello, I've had relative success with DP breeding. Setup was heavily planted walstad+sponge filter tank, around 70l. Water parameters on the harder side (ph closer to 8 than 7, higher hardness and alkalinity than the norm, very calcium loaded water here). Softened a little with the regular catapa le...

Hello puff world
Hello, Basic introduction, new to the forum scene. I'm in love with puffers, currently keeping a lovely colony of DP, most probably all travancoricus (2 males / 3 females) in a 120l heavily planted lowboy tank. They share their home with a few male endlers and 2 uncatchable eggeater khuli loaches. I...
