Yes, both were about 1in. when I bought them. I housed them in a 29g Bowfront and then in a 40g BF.
I went to college in Greenville, 20yrs ago.

I housed to males together with no issues. It does sound like the OP does have two males from the descriptions given.

I have a solo puff in a 40g BF that has an established snail population but he hasn't gone on the rampage yet. I am considering moving a Yoyo loach in to the tank to help decimate the infestation.

Be careful adding new puffs to an established puff community. I had a solo pea and added 7 thinking that it would diffuse the aggression and only one survived.

Long time keeper in the NW

Greetings, I have been keeping fish for 20yrs, a wife for 19, and kids for 16, 14, 12,10 years. Other animals too but they are not fish so will remain unmentioned :D . Currently, I am running 13 aquariums ranging from 29g up to 220g and all my aquariums have some plants. I have Pea Puffs in 2 tanks....
