Absolutely, a complex environment will help with boredom of this intelligent, inquisitive pet.
Ah i see, is there any scape to take reference from?, or anything to avoid in particular? (Sharp sticks etc.)

Please don't! Your mbu has already shown to have aggressive/killer tendencies.
Also i was warned by a puffer group on fb that the killing could be because he/she was bored. Do i need to add plants and hardscapes, as my tank currently only has a sand bed, and an artificial cave

What if they were from the same catch (same tank since young)?, from the lfs.

He's a puffer!
Hi all, i am thinking of getting another juvenile mbu to accompany my current one. would it be recommended ? (the "older" fish fighting for territorial space), or should i just stick with one. Excluding the tank space (have a pond to keep it when they grow bigger).

Re: Mbu juvenile

Please do your best not to overfeed though. It can lead to fatty liver disease. Hi, recently, i change his food diet from 2 meals a day to 1 meal a day, and when i went back. I realized he has eaten a neon tetra, not eat it but just killed it. what could be the reason for his sudden aggression towa...

Oh, i see thank you for your advice. :D . May i also know if over feeding will cause the mbu puffer colour to change?, and be lying still on the sandbed?

Here he is the bottom right, you can see a small bump. Nowadays, he is also lying down on the substrate(sand) motionlessly. As compared to when he first came in (2-3weeks ago).
Tank mates are neon tetras

Re: Mbu juvenile

No unfortunately it doesn’t, but his poop is black in colour and not really stringy. So i dont know what might be the cause, could be external parasites. But im really uncertain.

Re: Mbu juvenile

You could try some garlic-flavor. I used seachem garlic guard with mixed success depending on the food. My puffers never say no to live snails or earthworms, in case he won't accept frozen foods and gets too skinny. I assume you know how big these guys get? Yup, have done some research on them befo...

Mbu juvenile

Hi everyone, i have recently gotten a juvenile mbu puffer (5cm), but it doesn’t seem to be eating prawns/clams even when i cut them up into tiny pieces (bitesize) and try to feed it using a tweezer. May i know how to get it to eat?, as i really do not want it to only rely on bloodworms, i have also ...
