Re: Brackish water decor

I have "base rock" in my brackish tank. It is sold for use in marine tanks.

Re: Crayfish fighting or breeding?

Sounds like they are trying to breed. Do you know the sex of each one?
The red one will eventually grow larger than the blue one, so you may have difficulties keeping them together. They are most vulnerable right after molting.

If you still have the puffer, try frozen mysid shrimp or pick up some shrimp from the local grocery store. Try small pieces.

Tough to get a good picture of this one. It’s always moving, and doesn’t like my phone in its face😀. Although it will eat out of my hand. These pics might be a little better.

Re: Puffer id

The 8 is actually not how they are identified. The eyespot by the tail is the ID point, hence the name biocellatus, or "twinspot" puffer. I didn’t know GSP’s could have such big blotches on top? I've never seen them on the GSP's sold at a local garden centre (off course sold as pure ‘fres...

Re: Puffer id

I noticed the lack of ocelli at the tail as well. They are absent at the base of the dorsal fin too. I haven't seen another gsp with similar markings on the head before. Perhaps this fish was collected from a new area. The other two puffers at the lfs looked like this one.

Re: Puffer id

That’s what I thought when I first saw the puffer. But it has the figure 8 pattern.
