Re: Dwarf Puffer with swollen chin

https://imgur.com/a/L9d74Ar I just took these pictures today morning. Forgive the quality, I had to do it from somewhat further away as she always hides if I bring the camera too close to the tank. Wouldn't a tumor be less... well, see-through? You can pretty much see through the lump and it is redd...

Re: Pea puffer lump

Did you ever resolve this issue? My puffer started out looking like that too but now the lump is so much larger that it scares me.

Re: Dwarf Puffer with swollen chin

Poor guy! I think it's either a cyst or tumor. Not much you can do but keep him coomfortable. Is it possible that it could be somatic nematodes? That's something I read about in another forum post where someone else had a lump on their pufferfish's back. It's just that this bump didn't use to be th...

Dwarf Puffer with swollen chin

Hello, this has been an issue on my DP for a while now, many months but lately I noticed this growth on its chin has gotten bigger and it really worries me. Any information would be much appreciated. She still eats, though not as much, and is definitely more shy around me than she used to be. I've t...

Re: Where does your puffer sleep?

My dwarf puffer slept in different places for a while when I first got it but it soon settled on sleeping on a cabomba leaf. It looks so adorable just nestled in the leaf haha. Unfortunately I broke my lily pipe a few days ago while cleaning it and had to replace it with the intake from a hob filter...

I don't know if we would be able to tell you exactly if that's what happening, though I just noticed this post was from sometime last year... did you ever find out if it was guarding eggs?

Re: Breeding Dwarf Puffers

i'd like to breed as well but I am wondering how big of a tank I would need and how many puffers I would need as well. I read that having more than one female for one male is ideal so the female does not get tired out, but how true would this be if say I had one male and one female in a 15 or 20 gal...

All my puffer wants to do is eat...

If it sees me looking at it it comes up to the glass and looks at me hoping I will feed it. If I am doing maintenance on the tank it will follow my tools hoping there is food. If I watch it just doing its thing in the tank it is observing the environment looking for food. I get that there isn't much...

But up until a few days ago its stomach was never lumpy even after I'd fed it. It was always a smooth round shape even if I overfed it and it looked like it was about to balloon up (which only happened once lol)

Re: Overfeeding Puffers

My dwarf puffer eats a few frozen bloodworms (like seriously just 2 or 3) and its stomach bloats up like it is pregnant lol. I do feed it every day despite online articles saying only to feed it once every few days though just because it started out always fat and eating snails in my tank then about...

Re: Keeping GSP's entertained safely

I had the same thought for my dwarf puffer. It's so inquisitive and always looking around the tank and the tank isn't some neverending river so I felt really bad... once I did put in a clear dish with some bloodworms at the bottom for it to kind of figure out how to eat it. The thing is you can't re...

Re: Dynamic Environments Help Fish

You guys would be surprised at all the bare tanks shown in facebook groups... I really want to ask people why they would get a fish for a tank that's just all bare with just sand/gravel and like one little decoration in there.

Does a lumpy stomach always mean internal parasites?

Hey guys, so I've had my dwarf puffer for about 3 weeks now and I noticed yesterday after feeding it that the right side of its stomach is actually a bit lumpy and weird looking. I was a bit paranoid when I first got it about it having parasites or even ich and monitored it closely. I even had a sca...
