Re: GSP update, once again thanks for the advice!
Arg I will happily do so when I can, I work anything up to 150 hours a week running a mental health organisation but am unpaid. I've had to get a day job for my day job just to support my 6 cats and 24 fish (at the LFS as it happens)! Once that starts I will definitely contribute what I can, hosting...

GSP update, once again thanks for the advice!
We're a few months in now and once again I'm very grateful for the excellent advice on here! Dolos and Ceris are still little guys but have doubled in size from 1" to 2" and it looks like I'll be upgrading their tank to 420 litres much sooner than planned. As I'm now hooked on marine and s...

Re: Need some help with care info all input is appreciated
Like the others who have responded I'm unsure what sort of puffer avocado refers to but those are good suggestions. It's important to know what exactly it is as puffers have different requirements as you clearly realise and LFS often ignore or are unaware of this. I don't know anything about the mod...

Help! Sudden unexplained deaths in tank, worried about GSP's
Hi I hope someone can help. My chalk goby passed yesterday and my lawnmower blenny today. I loved those little guys, absolutely devastated. Both were behaving normally and looking well until they went and both were eating well. No visible marks, nothing to indicate pathogens. I've had the blenny a l...

Re: Weird marine tank for GSP's
Absolutely, there are little caves and swin throughs that it's hard to see in the pic but they're growing fast so they won't be able to use them for long. This is a starter tank which will be upgraded to 3 or 4 times larger when they grow a bit more and will have larger caves and overhangs as well a...

Re: Help: GSP in full marine water or brackish?
I took Pufferpunk's advice as well as that of others and set up full marine for my two GSP's. 5 weeks on they seem happy and the live rock along with its clean up crew deal with their mess very well, the water stay pristine. I'm fairly new to fish keeping, a freshwater community tank was re-homed wi...

Weird marine tank for GSP's
Once again, thanks for all the advice prior to my GSP's coming home over 5 weeks ago now. They are in full marine as the one re-homed with me came from the same. The one from the same batch but coming to me from brackish in the LFS acclimatised well and the two are still getting on well. There can b...

Re: Thanks for all the advice, puffers came home today!
Thank you, yes I know they get that size and need extra room to explore. That is over twice what everyone else suggests but you clearly have more experience with puffers than most and the general recommendations don't seem sufficient to me even with as little experience as I have. The best I could d...

Re: Thanks for all the advice, puffers came home today!
Once again, sorry for all of the questions, I just want to do right by my puffers and am conscious of being a noob. As I've said I had one young GSP re-homed with me and got another from the LFS that he'd come from originally, from the same batch. That left 2 in a less than 10 litre tank at the shop...

Re: Overfeeding Puffers
What else is good for keeping the beaks down? they're only little guys right now, 1.5" so a lot of shellfish are too big at the moment and I'm not sure what they can crunch through when they're bigger. Thank you!

Keeping GSP's entertained safely
Hi, sorry to keep posting, brand new to keeping puffers and wanting to do the best for them! My little guys seem happy in their environment of live rock and macro algae but I'm seeing just how intelligent and playful they are and want to provide them with more stimulation. I can't find much in the w...

Re: Overfeeding Puffers
Thank you, the one re-homed with me is larger and sleeker and already on a schedule of one fast day a month. The one that came from the LFS is a little smaller in length and was very thin but in 4 days is looking much more well fed. Maybe I'll add a fast day next week as he's already filling out so ...

Re: Overfeeding Puffers
Ah cheers, the little one from the LFS had a hollow belly, already a little round. The re-homed one was already quite sleek and takes less food, I suppose as he is ideal weight already and the other came a bit undernourished. Such a difference between them in colour and shape and now only 24 hours l...

Re: Thanks for all the advice, puffers came home today!
Ah, I'm going to be worried for ages but they seem fine this morning, just checking water perimeters. Weirdly, they actually got upset about me turning the light out before bed last night, the one from the LFS I'd needed to drip tried to jump at me. It was a lot like leaving puppies for the night, s...
