Re: THEY ARE MATING - T.schoutedeni
Why Rich? I'm a hobby breeder, not in to it for the money.
PX, do you know the cost of feeding these guys?
I just hope to succeed in time and get a larger breeding group so they won't disappear again.

Re: Skinny and delayed Tetraodon schoutedeni (spotted congo) shipment
OHHHHHH NOOOOOOO! Schoutedeni Eggs everywhere last night. It looks like hundreds. Some noob like me gets a bunch of eggs, where on the other side of the coin, somebody with skills is pulling their hair out trying. Nice going! Guess what, yesterday I came into me fish room in the afternoon and one o...

THEY ARE MATING - T.schoutedeni
Just witnessed the first mating of my leopards this afternoon. To be honest, I'm exited. While mating, they disappeared under the rock, surrounded by plants. What trigered it, I don't know! Last weekend I was away at an Aquascaping workshop with George Palmer (UK) organized by NADA (Nature Aquascapi...

Re: Schoutedeni puffer - 1 year before/after picture
@ramp005 If we can get Tetraodon Pustulatus that would be awesome. When I decided to purchase a rare puffer, I went with Tetraodon Duboisi, since it's endangered in the wild and thus more likely to hold its value in the future. Please note that endangered species should be saved so perhaps one shou...

Re: Keeping plants alive in puffer tanks
I have quite a few different plants, but I’ve found that my GSP loves to eat the little onion plants and to uproot the bulbs. When I first got my fahaka baby, the first thing I noticed was that he/she started picking on some green algae on a rock in the quarantine tank, he still does it from time to...

Re: Schoutedeni puffer - 1 year before/after picture
It's because there's been such a spike in supply, yet due to their passive nature demand has barely gone down. Once the hype dies down, and if they are successfully bred in captivity, then they could probably go as low as $50 Don't bet on it too much for the coming 5-10 years as demand is still hig...

Re: Skinny and delayed Tetraodon schoutedeni (spotted congo) shipment
According to his Facebook page: Tetrodon schoutendeni 3" Wild caught Quarantined 2+ weeks Eating every snail they can find! $175 each 5 available They still look a bit skinny in the picture, but not as emaciated as your photos so I'm skeptical about IP. Maybe your fish just need time to gain w...

Re: Keeping plants alive in puffer tanks
Thanks Ramp, What are you feeding your fahaka?? I bought a baby one last month, about 1-2 inches, he was super skinny and he doesn't seem to be growing or gaining weight. I have dewormed him (soaked his food in flubendozol for 5 days and definitely saw worms coming out) so not sure what to try. loo...

Re: Skinny and delayed Tetraodon schoutedeni (spotted congo) shipment
Well, indeed googling the statements return the shop ;-) Out of curiosity, I've checked the price of a schoutedeni...Ouch. It seems that for this puffer, we fare much better in EU ;-) Maybe central africa shipments are easier here, or there is this german breeder keeping the market reasonable, or a...
