If it has eyespots and is active it isn't an M. turgidus. I would bet that it's a T. cochinchinesis.

:shock: Way too many fish. It doesn't matter what you put in that tank to make it "right" the tank can't handle it. Keeping fish in buckets is also not recommended. IMHO the only thing you can do to fix this problem is get rid of fish, or upgrade to a very large tank, at least 75 gallons. ...

Most of the people I've dealt with who keep Scats keep their specific gravity between 1.012 and 1.020. Go heavy on the filtration and you should be able to keep more than two, but be warned they really can create a landfill in your tank. Be prepared to work for them.
