Re: Tiny tank for tiny Mowgli

This is beautiful and gave me ideas for the 4 gallon I have now (and 15+ I plan to get today). Great example of tiny house-ing a tank, haha. Hey, you should def post a pic of the 4g when you are done with, id love to see it. And thank you for the compliment :D Mowgli lived in that tank for about a ...

Re: Tiny tank for tiny Mowgli

Is that really only 0.5 gallons? Looking at Mowgli for scale, it seems larger. I ask because I have a single puffer, Pea-nelope, in a 2.6 gallon. Yessir. In total there is about one gallon worth of water (maybe less) but half of that goes into the built-in-sump. That was my goal though, to make it ...

Tiny tank for tiny Mowgli

Mowgli is my pea puffer. He is about one year old, and though he is small he has a BIG personality. I've been keeping pea puffers for quite a while now but Mowgli is different... because with Mowgli I broke the rules. Mowgli is in a half-gallon tank, which sits on a half-gallon sump-style overflow f...

Trixie's Disease

A few weeks ago I posted the following: https://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37334 Unfortunately, today appears to be the day that Trixie passed away. I called the place where I received her from via shipment to simply ask if any other fish in the batch had experienced simila...

Re: Young GSP's in full marine?

Ow really, thats interesting but also worries me..wont it harm him? So interestingly I picked up a dying GSP from the LFS a couple days ago. I got him cheap since the worker and I agreed that he would be dead the next day and therefore worth nothing. So I offered $2. Anyways, I took him home and tr...

Re: SAP Shaking

Assuming the fish is feeding normally, and behaving in the usual way otherwise (e.g., curious about its world, interacting harmlessly with the other SAPs, etc.) I'd not medicate yet. I would (as others will doubtless suggest) perform frequent water changes over the next few days in case there's bee...

Re: Young GSP's in full marine?

This post inspired me, I am going to look into getting the smallest GSP that I can. I will try to raise him in full marine once he is dewormed, and then I will record the progress.

Cool concept.

It seems to be consistent, but most noticeable when looking for food.

Re: SAP Shaking

I'm sorry, at a loss here... Symptoms don't sound familiar. Your parameters are spot on unless the high nitrate stressed him out some. How long have you had them now? First of all, I just want to say thank you for always responding and running this forum. I love these puffers (dont know why but I d...

SAP Shaking

Hello again, This time I am truly at a loss, any help is much appreciated. I have four SAP's in my 20 Gallon. I would put them into my 75 but I am waiting until they are bigger. They are only one inch currently and since they were shipped to me I wanted to treat them for IP and make sure they were e...

Re: Valentini Puffer died the morning after trimming... why?

:sorry: :rip: My guess is brain damage from overdosing the CO. How long did you wait before adding more oil? How long from the time you put him into the CO solution & back into clean FW? I only waited a couple of minutes, I should probably have waited longer but I never heard of brain damage fr...

Valentini Puffer died the morning after trimming... why?

Today I woke up and my Puffer, Ardy, seems to have passed. Last night I decided to trim his bottom tooth as he could not bite very well through his food. He mostly missed although once in a while he got a chunk. I just had shoulder surgery, so I had someone help me. I felt bad asking them to help me...
