Scale insects on plant in Fish room
Plant treated with Neem Oil in fish room ? My Lilly, invested with scale insects, shares a room with My Fahaka puffer. Taco is in a 120 gallon tank on the other side of the room. He is due for filter service and water change monday or Tuesday this week. I don't have an alternate place for the plant ...

Re: injury sore or growth on corner of mouth on Taco, a Fahaka
I did water changes and fortunately his immune fought off infection without the antibiotics. He has a sand-like substrate in his current tank and will have a mount of "caribsea super natural natural sand" from in his new tank. More on that in another post.
Thanks for your help!

injury sore or growth on corner of mouth on Taco, a Fahaka
His vigor and appetite are good and so far I have not done anything. I try to do 50% water changes very week but it's been more like 17 day since hte last one and he will get one today. Ever since those changes at least every 20 days but more often sometimes water quality has been pretty stable. He ...

Re: Planning for New Tank!
Better plan to move media! Thanks!
He was aggressive even when quite young. I think it's best he not have tank mates.... but he is rather board playing with and attacking his reflection alot. I wish he could have a big pond.

Planning for New Tank!
I plan to get a 120-125 gallon tank as a long term home for my fahaka puffer. My fahaka Taco is in a 40 gallon breeder and I'd say he is now 7-8 inches. He is lovely and so cute! We do not feed him a large mount of food each time but he does eat 1-2 times a day mostly blood worms and we manage 50% w...

Re: Baby Fahaka Puffer not growing
I know it's been awhile. I am curious what happened. My experience with our fahaka is that he seems to grow big and fat before he grows long.

Avoid failed seal? Shopping for 120 gal+ tank
I am moving from a 40 gal to a 120 gal tank soon. I went shopping online and on a brand that I thought had an excellent reputation there were many stories of failed seals! OMG! So I'm freaking out! ;) I hope to buy a 2x2x4 tank soon. I have renter's insurance and an umbrella policy because I rent ju...

Re: Fahaka suffered foul hot water ! Now lethargic and won't eat!
I got the ph to about 7.2 and the sulfates to between 5 and 10 ppm with another 50% water change. No change in Puffer, Taco. Thinking of tring epsom salts. Measured for 120 that is 48x24x24 and think that could fit but not sure when I'll be able to get one. Boy 50% water changes on that are going to...

Re: Fahaka suffered foul hot water ! Now lethargic and won't eat!
I am going to do another 50% change in the morning and won't put in the aquarium salt and it will eventually work it's way out. Taco is still not eating. :( but after 50% change his color is better. he is still fairly lethargic resting on the bottom of the tank, but he is not as pale anymore. Unfort...

Fahaka suffered foul hot water ! Now lethargic and won't eat!
How long does it take for puffer to recover from foul water? What can i do to help besides clean water? How concerned should I be with trying to feed him frozen blood worms and have them remain in tank / filter? I net them if he does not eat them. He usually eats the cube as or before it thaws in th...
