freshwater puffer tank decoration ideas

Hi all, Long time of not posting. Whilst being locked down i have decided to improve some of my ambush puffer tanks. I have a suvatti, miurus and baileyi. Mostly nearly fully grown (all between 4 and 6 inches). Kept in around 50 gallon long tanks. Obviously sand substrate and boringly decorated with...

Re: New Suvatti

i think having now kept a number of different puffers for a number of years, i can safely say that 'suvattis' are my fave of the 'ambush predator' puffers. They seem a lot more interactive than the humpback/twin spots/hairys in my experience, but i guess that varies fish to fish..

Miurus eating advice

Hi all, Long time no posting.. Having not bought any new puffers for months I finally bought a miurus. He's got his own 100 litre tank (well and truly cycled, I took media from several well established tanks to fill the canister and flow rate is a good 8x per hour). A nice big bed of sand which he s...

schoutedeni - diet change advice

howdy all, you may (or may not!) remember but about 2.5 months ago I became the proud owner of a shoal of tetradon schoutedeni. They were v. small (1-2 cm) when I obtained them. They are growing really well - some of them have already nearly tripled in size!! I have been feeding them bloodworm since...

fahaka laying eggs

howdy all, had confirmation tonight that my fahaka is definitely a female! she's laid literally thousands of eggs in one patch of the aquarium. Sad that I'll never be able to get them fertilised as no way of finding a guaranteed male and even if i did they'd probably kill each other before breeding!...

Re: is this a genuine tetradon pustulatus/cross river puffer

I've made a very brave decision - closing down two of of my 3 footers to make room for a new 6 footer for the pustulatus!! I'll keep you up to date

Re: is this a genuine tetradon pustulatus/cross river puffer

I am very tempted, but need to figure out exactly where to house it!!

I have a 3 footer that is immediately available, but don't currently have any spare 5/6 footers without moving around a few different tanks.

would 3x1.5 ft do temporarily?

is this a genuine tetradon pustulatus/cross river puffer

Howdy!

one of my fave LFS have got a cross river puffer in!! I know these are often confused with spotted fahakas. What do you guys think??

They're currently asking for £1000!! I am a regular there so they may just let is go a little cheaper

Thanks

Re: Labeled Leiurus

I collected mine, pretty sure it's no leiurus (photos to follow) - he has a line accross his head - is that a give away in terms of what species?

In case you're interested i just saw this that looks like a real leiurus :
