Thanks PP, managed got my hands on some longer tongs, with these i rubbed a worm right up against its lips and he took it! after that a few hours later i tried with a live super worm and again rub on the lips and it bit down! think ive got the technique now, thank you so much!

Total volume is just what the sump holds plus the tank size. Flow rate into the sump is the exact same as flow rate out of the sump, and that number is listed as gallons per hour on the return pump box. sounds like a good idea, are they quiet filters? as in could you sleep near then without being disturbed too much?

Hes eating very happily still and the spot has appeared to shrunk still present though struggling to source clove oil as i live fairly far from civilisation and my camera cant take a decent picture.
