I think you should start him with some bad-tasting corals, like leathers & see how he does. I had mine with some very $$$ corals & he didn't touch them. First corals i get will prob be some zoas and lps corals. Not planning on doing leathers unless i can come across some bright pretty ones....

Just got it going. Still figuring out if i like the rock placement. It will evolve as time goes on im sure.

Awesome, i knew i was missing this forum. About to start cycling my reef set up than its on to my daughters dwarf puffer tank. Wish there was a puffer that was reef friendly.

Hey everyone.

Hello everyone. I was a member of this forum along time ago when i had a gsp. Was out of the hobby for a long time but scored a nice 95g wave front tank and rs100 sump for cheap so im back.

I can understand connecting a refugium to a reef since thats what is normally done but a predator tank? Reefs are a very low nutrient environment to begin with so why would it be benificial in any way to connect the two?

I would never link a predator or FOWLR tank to a reef tank. Like you said yourself your going to have alot of nitrate aswell as phosphate issues and unless you have a softy reef your asking for trouble. Take a look on craigslist and check your local reef clubs/forums for a cheap used skimmer and sav...

Im finishing up my 5gl instant ocean then switching to seachem. I need the higher calcium/mag levels so I dont end up haveing to dose.
