Re: Why have my puffers abruptly started hiding?

I am not sure... maybe they start to hide because they started to feeling comfortable and in security.

Re: Why have my puffers abruptly started hiding?

I have learnt during these years that my puffers hide when there is too much light on the tank... they look uncomfortable. On the other hand, when the tank has poor lights... the puffers look relaxed and hide all the time.

My puffers turned active only when I appear to feed them.

F8 eggs found in my tank

Hi all, Today I woke up and went to feed my F8... I noticed something yellowish and I thought it was snail shells or any leftover from feeding time. When I got close to that, I got my camera: http://i1097.photobucket.com/albums/g351/fernandorochadossantos/20160501_140917_zpshstysavz.jpg http://i1097...

Re: Figure 8 puffers

I guess 30g is a good size to keep them. Provide a lot o caves for BBGs and everything will be fine. Wisteria is a good floating plant imo. ______________________________________________________________________________ Edit: the floating plant I meant is water sprite, not wisteria. I beg your pardon!

Re: Figure 8 puffers

I'm gonna give my opinion/experience: - I had 2 F8puffers for almost 8 years. One of them used to be very dominant and the other very passive. The dominant one died this year (probably some internal infection - I tried some antibiotics with no success). Now I have a singleton F8 much more unique... ...

Re: F8 Puffer Behavior

Do you not keep your F8 in bw? Well, he's lookinhg fine to me, but 5G is too small for one F8. I tink 30G is perfect for your fish. My F8 lives in a 45G long. You can light your future tank, but you should use less than 20W. In a 5G tank your puffer does not have space available to swim... that coul...
