Re: Dwarf Puffer

I know my puffer won't eat much as well. You could try to soak the frozen blood worms in garlic to see if it will take them since it had at least eaten a bit before. Another option is to try to get some snails. Alot of stores will have some pest snails that they may be willing to give you. Anyone yo...

Re: Dwarf puffer questions

Oh ok that helps a lot I will check there. But my question wasn't necessarily about room, it was if a smaller dp would be ok with one that would probably be a lot bigger than a new young puffer would be.

Dwarf puffer questions

From my post in the meet and greet my puffer has gotten into it's new home. It has taken a couple months but I have finally gotten to see my puffer eating and she (so far no eye wrinkles or stripe on the belly) loves her snails. I have tried a lot of frozen foods for months with and w/o garlic to no...

Re: New to the world of puffers and online forums!

The purchase order at the store when they got it said it was travancoricus. But that doesn't mean it couldn't be a mix up. It is probably about half an inch right now so if it was a red eye it would most likely be young. I'm just very interested in what you guys have to say now that I'm not worried ...

Re: New to the world of puffers and online forums!

I will get a better side view when I get home from work. But in the meantime does he at least look like a healthy weight? I know it can take some time for them to warm up but he still hides when I come around and won't take any food while I'm there. It has been a bit over 2 weeks with the same behav...

Re: New to the world of puffers and online forums!

Oh wow. I definitely would trust someone that is a lot more experienced with puffers more than a pet label, because they had it as C. Travancoricus, but what about it makes you think it's a red eye species? The pictures may not due some of the colors justice, because the first 3 pictures don't quite...

New to the world of puffers and online forums!

I am from West Virgina in the United States. I had a tank when I was younger and about 2 years ago I started keeping them again with planted tanks, the only type of freshwater tanks ;), with varying types of fw shrimp. I still love shrimp but I was starting to want to keep something a bit different ...
