fish blindness?
i turned on the light in my tank this morning and noticed that my GSP was acting erratically (swimming fast all around the tank) and my clownfish was swimming along the bottom on the sides of the tank and bumping into the corners. they look ok physically, so i don't think they're sick. in the mornin...

Re: Ick in Marine?
just wanted to give you guys an update. my puffer brutus has done a 180 and is well on his way to recovery sans medications. his cloudy eyes cleared up, i am doing 25% water changes every day in the QT, and he has an enormous appetite. i am supplementing his food with garlic and selcon (interchangin...

Re: Please help my sick GSP...
hi rocco,
i'll try quick cure. my GSP doesn't have a sunken belly (i don't feed him much either), but he might've just started getting IP. should I use antibiotics for the IP? i've had him for about two years, and he's about 2.25inches long.

Please help my sick GSP...
Hi everyone, My GSP has been sick for about a month with saltwater ick. I followed the directions in the Puffer Library and moved both my GSP and my damselfish into a bare-bottom 10g quarantine tank (this was about two weeks ago). I used Ick Attack for a week as directed, and then did a 25% water ch...

Re: Ick in Marine?
the temperature was about 80. i've also been adding more garlic to my puffer's diet. i read that raising the temperature will speed up the life cycle of the ick, but is it normal to see white spots on the fins and head of my puffer in the morning, and then come home to a "clean" puffer (no...

Re: Ick in Marine?
by "cleaning" i meant doing a 25% water change using my python vacuum. i did that, my water temp is at 83 degrees, and the ick seems to have subsided a bit. the white spots have decreased in numbers but i still see some small ones. i will read the article on marine ick. thanks for your hel...

Re: Ick in Marine?
thanks for all of your responses! my ammonia level was 0 when i tested it but i will clean the tank tomorrow after work as a first step... can't hurt. i don't have a quarantine tank. i'll buy a full test kit as well... any suggestions for good ones you use and like? thanks also for identifying the c...

Ick in Marine?
my GSP is sick with what looks like ick. i heard it's hard for marine fish to get ick, so i'm not sure, but that's what it looks like. the white salt crystal-like formations have spread to his fins. what can i do without killing all of the other things in the tank? i bought a heater from dr. fosters...

Tank Size/Type
Hi everyone, I'm thinking of upgrading my tank in the near future. As of now I have a 20G Eclipse 2 Combo with a marine GSP (he's about 2.5~3 inches now). He's killed and/or eaten just about everything else I've tried to put in the tank so he's all alone. My question to you guys... How big should th...

What can I put in my marine tank with my GSP?
Hi, I have a 3 in. GSP named Brutus who is almost fully marine (I have been slowly adding marine salt over the past 5 months). My LFS told me that I will not be able to keep any kind of live coral in my tank once it is marine because it would need a special light. I've been browsing this site and I'...
