Re: Ich, or something else?
I find LFS' are notorious for intentionally not giving needed info to ensure a sale. When I first got into saltwater tanks, I went to a fish store called Valencia Pet. They sent me home with enough saltwater to fill my 24g Nano Cube, a flowerpot coral, a Anemone, 2 Percula Clowns, a goby of some sor...

Re: Raising salt levels, changing products?
I wouldn't worry too much about using chemicals to start the cycle, I always prefer to just purchase some live sand and throw in a couple dead shrimp and let nature take its course. As for testing, I prefer higher grade kits such as the ones offered by RedSea.

It may also be beneficial to you to consider purchasing snails online. Make your life easier and they usually do perfectly fine.

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
So sorry to hear the last one ended up dead Pretty awesome the seller is going to help restock your tank like that. Holy crud on the pleco though! I'd be heartbroken if I lost a $600 dollar fish. I find the higher the value, the more time I invest in ensuring everything is ready.

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
Well that's werid, doutbful he would have decomposed that quickly. Means there's still hope... granted that may not be a good thing. I bought mine from exoticfishshop.com. Honestly, I wouldn't give up on the species; I would err on the side that the fish were bad and that's why you lost them all as ...

Re: Figure 8 and bumblebee gobies in a 15 gallon?
Why not just go with a 20 gallon or a little larger? The extra 5 gallons wouldn't take up much more room but would give more for a larger bio-laod.

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
@lilacamy931 - From everything I had read and seen online, they WILL have parasites. Due to the fact that they are all wild caught, internal parasites are a sure thing for the most part. Def want to treat to be safe; unless the seller has already treated of course. The fish shop I bought from had al...

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
Oh wow... I cannot even imagine. Maybe a stupid question by maybe not... do you make your own RO/DI water or get some from your LFS? I learned the hard way that RO/DI is the only way to go.

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
What do you think killed them all; it seems like to lose all of those fish and all the puffs, something external happened. Cannot imagine the fish just had a bad go. The one I have is doing pretty good though he is still in QT and will be going into a 40g breeder with 10g sump pretty soon here. Not ...

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
That does seem like a whole lot of money. I paid $200 for mine shipped but I don't know if maybe there is just a larger market for them in the US so maybe there are just less where you are and therefor they are maybe more expensive. Obviously not living in your area, I cannot give something local; b...

Re: Hello from Singapore
I think it may be best to repost this in one of the forums that seems appropriate for your title (such as "Hospital" or "Freshwater Puffers") given you'll have a better shot at finding the people that have the answer. This forum is not likely to be checked by many as it is for me...

Re: Dwarf Puffer Got Halfway Stuck In Filter
Is the intake for the filter strong or is he usually able to avoid it under normal circumstances? If the former is true, then maybe it's just the first time he flew that close to the sun and he melted his wings (ignore the punny lol). If the intake is just strong, is there a way you can but a sponge...
