Re: Successful Tetraodon schoutedeni spawning

They start to hatch in 110 hours. I fed paramecium and rotifers between 25-55 microns, five to six times a day for the first 20 days. At 12 days I also start feeding just hatched baby brine shrimp twice a day. Normally around 45 days I’ll also start offering daphnia. I’ll stop the baby brine once th...

Re: Albino Tetraodon schoutedeni

Are you this YouTuber? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThYHZ_TQFYs (If so, I'm a huge fan!) I like the look of the leucism much more than the albino. I've found that I only get the albinos when spawning my F2 puffers together. I do not get them if spawning an F2 with a wild-caught. Or an F2 with an ...

Albino Tetraodon schoutedeni

Of the well over 5,000 T. schoutedeni that I've spawned and raised, I've never seen an albino. It is an F2. Image

Re: Successful Tetraodon schoutedeni spawning

Most of them from this group have been sold off. But they have sooo many brothers and sisters from other spawnings. You can see them on instagram using the app or just on the web at instagram.com/prestonjohn

Re: The savage

My 12yr daughter put her finger in the female schoutedeni tank, just enough to break the surface and has a nice blood blister now. She told me "keep your hands out... or all the way in". Great advice.

Re: Leopard Puffer? Green Spotted puffer or Spotted Congo puffer?

I have a few hundred Tetraodon schoutedeni puffer juveniles in Phoenix/Mesa, Arizona that are almost large enough to ship. I’ve been posting information on Instagram @prestonjohn but you can also search #tetraodonschoutedeni to find.

Re: THEY ARE MATING - T.schoutedeni

If you breed your own snails then it's just the cost to keep them going. I feed my adults about 8-10 dime size apple/mystery snails every day and a net full of large Daphnia magna three times a week. They also munch on the cherry shrimp they are able to catch. I breed the snails in a 65 gallon with ...

Here is an updated video on one of the captive bred Tetraodon schoutedeni puffer groups I have. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sw136ovOw6w I'll be posting more soon as they are already double the size from this video in just two short weeks.

Thanks! At what point do you think they would be considered juveniles? 3 months?

Re: Feeding behavior of baby T. schoutedeni

Feed lots of snails. If they are too large you may first need to crush the shell so the meat is accessible. My trio eats the equivalent of one and a half large mystery snails each day. For the baby fry, I feed infusoria. Here is a video. I'll post more soon that should give you some more help. https...

Another - Successful T. schoutedeni spawning 7/4/18

My male and second female breed yesterday. I saw and stopped my other female from eating eggs. She was all over them. I moved most of the eggs out to other tanks to do some "testing" on water parameters... This being the third spawn, I'm running out of tanks to put the over 100 fry. I plan...
