Re: MBU PUFFER

This is why I hardly ever bother coming on the forum as people are always too quick to Judge!!!
The classic was when some snacked about the size of our tank when theirs was actually smaller.... Hypocrite!!!

Re: Saltwater Crabs

Here is a picture of the tank - water isn't that good as it was still settling from a change/clean up.

Our 2 parrots looked like they fancied a swim...

Will get a better pic of the tank as soon as I get a minute

Re: Saltwater Crabs

Maybe the people out there shouldn't take them from their home environment in the first place!

But like everything animals/fish etc are taken from their home environment to the point of extinction....

At least we are caring for them and loving them to the best of our ability.....

Re: Saltwater Crabs

Our tank is not a corner tank it just has a slightly bowed front - this is why i stopped posting on here as people make assumptions as to size of tank we have and the type of tank. - It holds approximately 450litres - Now your all gonna moan and say that it's too small of course I would love to have...

Re: Saltwater Crabs

I have always found Fishy Business to be very good and helpful and honest, Where as Swallows seem to be be run by school kids.....anyway each to their own I guess. Moby is about 2 and a half years old, we have only had him a year, the previous owners overfed him so he grew to an immense size in a ye...

Re: Saltwater Crabs

I think the things to consider here are whether the crab can hurt the puffer as Nick says but probably more significant how clean the crab is. I would worry about pollution levels and possible introduction of parasites too. Personally I wouldn't feed it but thats becase I also think Crabs are cute ...

Re: Saltwater Crabs

We have a saltwater crab as our nieces went crabbing on the Thames river which is about 5 mins away from where we live. As for having him in tap water - think my stupid reason for this because MBU's are fresh water I thought that the tap water would dilute the salt water ..... (by the way I am blond...

Saltwater Crabs

We have got out hands on a live Saltwater crab for our MBU puffer - It has been sitting in tap water for the last few hours.

Is there anything else we should do before we feed it to our MBU??

The Mbu has only been in there a week tomorrow.
Unfortunately the other tank has now gone so we don't have anywhere else to put them.

Oh and Moby (the mbu) is about 18months old and he was serious overfed with his previous owners (6 muscles a day) anyway the couple before have now split and gave Moby back to the shop where they bought him and because he knew that we had a larger tank than most he asked us to have him. We are now f...

White Areas on my MBU - Doesn't look like White Spot

Hi there, We recently adopted a large MBU, since being put in our tank he has developed white area's but it isn't like individual spots. I really don't know what it could be or what to do to help. The tank is fairly new, although i ran the pump from my old tank (which was mature at the time) so that...
