Another PUFFER!

So I am happy to announce I added a new addition to my 40 gallon tank! another F8Puffer! for a while now I have been wanting another one along side my other puffer Copter but I was too nervous on the personality this new one might bring. Being that I have about 7 BBGs in the tank and my older puffer...

Re: Where does your puffer sleep?

Funny I was just thinking about my Puffers sleep pattern the other day. I have two of them. One likes to sleep in his cave (from a fake driftwood and with rocks.) and my other one seems to just NOT SLEEP! well he does but he moves around everywhere. lol I think he is a sleep swimmer. LOL the Gobies ...

Huge update!

So I went to many LFS around Minnesota and many had great advice! I have been happy with my 37 gallon tank for years now but I felt that it needed a huge makeover. I wanted to change my gravel to crush coal for a long time now. I tested it to see if it would change the hardness and PH. My water is a...

Re: Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

so I have been worried about my boys teeth. I have been giving him snails, Krill, and now clams for hard shelled foods. Some bloodworms, cherry shrimp and silverslides as a treat. Though he has been ignoring the silverslides and the krill now. Only eating Bloodworms and Snails and the Shrimp. I'm no...

Re: Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

thank for the info. I didn't think salt would rot the wood. I knew it would slowly break it down like fresh water does. I ended up taking the driftwood out today and changing the tank around. I do not want to change the substrate, I hate making fish stressed out too much. Not to mention my KH and GH...

Re: Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

oh perfect! thanks so much for the help and info! I'll be getting my 37 gallon this week. Not sure if I want to move them this weekend of wait until later in the summer. Ill decide when it comes. Copter does seem a bit bored, glass surfing in the back at times reasons why I upgraded.

Re: Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

Hello again! So I just bought myself a 37 gallon tank for Copter and I am wondering how to safely transfer him and my bumblebee gobys into it. I want to use the same decor what is in my 20 gallon long. I know not to use a net for the puffer. As of right now, I wont be changing the tank any time soon...

Re: Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

Thank you! he has come a long way, that's for sure. I felt bad for the others that were in the same tank he was but there was nothing I could do. =<

Helicopter, the F8 Puffer.

Long overdue update on my 20 gallon breeder tank with my F8 puffer named Helicopter. Copter for short. =) Brackish water, fake plants, driftwood, gravel and crushed coral substrate mixed together with a filter and a bubblier in the background. He eats frozen Krill, snails, shrimp and frozen blood wo...

My Gh and KH is high. I don't want to make my water harder than it already is.

Re: F8 puffer fish's future tank

Yes my tap is 8.0 already like I stated above... but will gravel hurt the puffer is what I am asking.
I will also be getting crushed coral once I turn this tank into brackish tank, but for right now I'm letting it finish it's cycle until I get the F8.

Re: F8 puffer fish's future tank

The plants are soft and fake, not real. And I read that the F8s do better in sand but also read that sand makes the PH high and mine is over 8.0 already. I also have really hard water to boot. Would gravel be a danger to the F8 puffer?
