Method of feeding Snails to Dwarf Puffers
Since I got my Dwarf Puffers I’ve been breeding snails but struggle with getting them out of my snail tank. If I use a snail trap, the large adults either block the door or fill it up, and I don’t get enough eye sized snails in. If I use my hands I risk either dropping them or crushing them, so I’ve...

Re: Raising snails for puffer
I have four dwarf puffs and raise tadpole snails for them, they are prolific, attractive and the young are the right size for a good while. I feed them boiled potato, courgette, and algae wafers. You have to keep them warm for them to breed fast though. I also culture white worms, and buy brine shri...

Amano Shrimp are,as you said, being ignored by the puffs. All is well.

Algae Control in DP tank.
My dwarf puffer tank is getting a little fuzzy especially in the moss. I thought to put some Amano Shrimp in to tidy up, has anyone managed this successfully? If not, what other alternatives do I have? The tank is heavily planted, the plants are peeling, the ammonia and nitrites both 0, nitrates les...

Re: Will Dwarf Puffers eat live foods?
I have five DPs currently in a 35 gallon species only tank. They eat frozen bloodworm and white mosquito larvae, they won’t eat frozen artemia, daphnia, mysis. Fresh they will eat black worm, bloodworm, tubifex, Daphnia, mosquito larvae, brine Shrimp. They will also bite my fingers if I put them in ...

Re: Euthanasia techniques article
I think people are very divorced from death, when I took my beautiful old dog down to the vet, he wanted me to just leave him! I was feeling guilty enough without just abandoning him. I come from a farming/subsistence hunting background, and if you keep livestock, you will always have deadstock now ...

Gender markings
How old are Dwarf Puffers before they show their gender markings. I don’t have any ventral stripes yet but I have three with very dark stripes and one, brave puff, who is more blurry and is less defined. I’d like to get a couple more of appropriate genders, but worry that delaying might make them le...

I would try a zoo vet. They’re more experienced at dealing with exotics.
