Re: Please Help, My Arrowheads Stopped Eating!
Once you find how your water is and straighten any problems out there you might want to consider feeding something a little larger. My arrowhead is only slightly smaller than what you say yours are and he wouldn't give larvae a second glance as food but will happily take on a crayfish half his size!

Re: so where and what type of snails do you guys use?
I am sure eventually your puff will have a try at an apple snail. I bought a trapdoor snail once because it was cool, and let it stay in my snail tank. Well, it seemed that I was having fewer snail explosions and I suspect he was gobbling up the eggs so he went into my modestus tank. He hung around ...

Re: DP for BW, does it exist?
I have heard several times over the years that dp's are brackish, and also that there aren't any freshwater puffers. All I can do is correct them and go about my business, otherwise you will beat your head against the wall arguing.

Re: Figure8 tank
I am no expert by far, and have not yet kept fig 8's either, but if I am not mistaken, BBG's do well in BW, and alot of people have had luck with them with Fig8's also. You might want to check on that, you may be able to keep those adorable little goomers.

Enjoy.....I have no more room for tanks even if I come across a deal!

Re: Linus, my beautiful fahaka, rest in peace
So sorry to hear that Boxermom. Fahaka's are one of the prettiest puffers, a dream puffer for me, but I don't have the room for the tank one needs right now.

Re: The not so happy story of how i got GSPs
Get your larger tank set up and ready to go as far as BW and all decor/filter/substrate etc that you want. When you are ready to transfer your fish you can also add the filter from the current tank along with any decor you wish to move over and that will jumpstart your tank for you. Your good bacter...

Re: Tank for Fahaka
One of the reasons I am so glad we have a set of sliding glass doors in the kitchen, and french doors in the living room.....so much easier to bring the big items into the house!!! Good luck, can't wait to see pics of your fahaka in his new tank......someday when my kids are all grown up and out of ...

Re: Right Puffer for 65?
My auriglobus is a big sissy and shares a tank with a school of barbs and a baby guppy. I decided to try adding a few fish when he didn't ever touch the guppy fry or the lone rescued tiger barb, and so far all is well. Heck the barbs are more aggressive at feeding time than Shamus is!

The one I have that I am pretty sure is a fangs likes to hide until feeding time, although he pops in and out all day to see if I am coming for food . Haven't seen him cruising around the tank yet.

Re: Just planted my tank -- check out the PICS!!!!
Very nice planted tank. I have NO luck with plants of any kind except java moss, and that is only because it is in the corner of a tank that gets natural sunlight in that corner!!! It is the same for house plants and yard plants...they all die on me!

Re: Listen to advise on this Forum
Sometimes you get lucky and end up with a mellow puffer who doesn't mind sharing, but if you wish to try it, do as you did, be very cautious! My modestus for example, shares his tank with a school of tiger barbs and a baby guppy without any issues. I realize if he gets bigger/older that could change...

Re: Help me make a warm welcome for my Congo Puffer
I have to second the no pleco comment with your congo puff. I had purchased a baby mirius, approx. 1 inch long, he was eating great, quite active and looked wonderful. I had left a 4" bristlenose pleco in there since he wasn't going to stay in that tank anyway, I still needed to do some rearran...
