I have had mine about 18 months, lost a couple because of a power cut but the others are doing well

Yup mine do that too. You could try partially crushing the shell before dropping it in. Some people say that helps

Wild caught food
Hi all Just wondering what people think about feeding wild caught river shrimp,snails and other small crustaceans. I am asking as I live very close to a river which is full of them and was thinking they would make good food for my puffers. Please share any problems ,benefits or experience on the sub...

They just kind of mooch about the tank most of the time swimming around the plants and wood looking for food,they also swim against the current of the filter outlet.

Mine took about 4 months to settle down properly,they are fine now execpt one which will occasionally get spooked and fly about the tank like A mad thing. But they will settle as long as the tank is big enough and the get enough stimulus

I have seen mine grazing on algae off bogwood and plants. I also feed a verity of hard foods snails clams shell on prawns etc but still the teeth grow.

Lighting for SAP
Hi guys
Just wondering what lighting people use in their SAP tanks. I am beginning to think they don't like strong lights but I need something to keep the plants growing and keep the puffers happy.
Any help would be much appreciated
