Re: Tetraodon schoutedeni on the way- advice needed
Ok so maybe put the Congo in the spare tank with a few fast fish. Free up some space in the 240l and get another SAP lol

Re: Schoutedeni, SAP or Irrubesco dilemma
God that's sad. I'm a bit scared about getting one if they are fragile.

Re: Tetraodon schoutedeni on the way- advice needed
Sorry to hijack this tread but my questions are so similar, I'll make a new thread if need be though. I've been told my fish shop are going to get these in after the new year. I'm thinking of adding one to my planted 240l (60g) community tank which consists of 2 SAPS, Threadfin Rainbows, dwarf Rainb...

SAP Update
Well following my disastrous attempt at Figure 8 ownership (he died of unknown causes not long after having him). I decided to get a couple of freshwater SAPS as I found them pretty cute and supposedly you can keep they with other fast moving fish. Anyway I've had them for over 6 months now and they...

Re: New Amazon puffers - are they healthy?
Yes they definitely look thin, mine looked like that when I picked them up from the fish shop.
Might as well fatten them up with whatever they will eat. Mine actually will eat New Life Spectrum pellets now, they seemed to have learned this from watching the other fish.

Re: SAP teeth in the wild?
I've read that in the wild they eat algae off of rocks which wares down their teeth. This is what I've read on a few posts from users when I've been hardcore Googling lol. Quite a few mentioned they have noticed theirs do it in the aquarium too. I can't actually imagine snails wear them down that m...

Re: Help, possible Ammonia spike
Okay thanks that's reassuring.
I'll give it a few days before I decide what to do now!

Re: Help, possible Ammonia spike
I know it's so sad, even my partner who wasn't really bothered with getting fish to start with was a bit deflated by the experience. I'm feeding the aquarium ammonia at the moment to keep the filter bacteria alive after doing a complete water change. Haven't decided what to do yet, I may get another...

Re: Help, possible Ammonia spike
My other half just text me saying he actually looks worse now and is curled up on the tank floor. I've asked him to double check all water tests again just in case

Re: Help, possible Ammonia spike
No I've not changed it at all yet. I was waiting to make sure the water parameters stayed at 0 for a couple of weeks first. I so wish we hadn't run out while I was away, my other half was texting me daily with the figures but I think it was after the 2nd day he ran out. I'm not even sure it's ammoni...
